TheLizard
VACATION PLANS CONFIRMED!! WHOO-HOO!! We have finally secured the time share for the week of May 6 through May 13. Timmeh, what can you tell me about MISHAWAKA, INDIANA? Your vacation is in Mishawaka? Why? What I can tell you is that it directly borders the city of South Bend which in turn directly borders my University. By May the weather should be less snot-freezingly cold, but don't go down any dark alleys unless you don't enjoy your possessions. The South Bend-Mishawaka area was hit really hard by the economic downturn and would probably be completely dead by this point if it wasn't for the money Notre Dame brings in. But you will only be about 90 minutes or so from Chicago, so that's always worth a visit. As is Notre Dame itself, I suppose.

We wanted to see Chicago, and Mishawaka was the closest available time-share. We'll hit AT LEAST one of the casinos and spend a day or two near the lake. Any good reasonably-priced seafood or Italian restaurants in the area? And telll me...do they have supermarkets there? Or do we have to milk and slaughter our own cows? miamisammy29
It's democratic representation has moved to Illinois. So, that's a plus! I think I'm gonna like this place.
TheLizard
I'm a college student, I can't afford even "reasonably priced" Italian or seafood.
Carl
I have a feeling everything there will be reasonably-priced. I love those kind of out-of-the-way vacations (as long as they have wireless )
miamisammy29
I'm a college student, I can't afford even "reasonably priced" Italian or seafood. Then, where can I find a good chili dog?
TheLizard
The student center on campus sells 33 cent hot dogs during the week at midnight.

Brad_M
...what can you tell me about MISHAWAKA, INDIANA? Sammy, I can hook you up here with a Visual Interlude of your vacation spot, compliments of Google Earth. It's a good thing you're staying there for a week, it gives you time to try 'em all and still have time to visit the casino. :wacky:

Shawna
goodness. I went into the casino on the cruise ship in January and had to have my sister re-teach me how to gamble. It's been so long since I've been to Vegas I hardly remember how to push a button on a slot machine.
RonJonSurfer
that's the problem with gambling, you now push buttons on slots instead of pulling handles...your money goes so much faster. Plus, if you were really good on an older slot, you could control the spin of the wheels with the handle.
Lucky
I hate those button machines too. I don't want to play a nickle on 15 flipping lines! I want to pull that handle and get my triple 7's, my wild cherries, or at least my double freaking diamonds!
_Laurie_
Explain, explain... Saved someone from choking...I know we practice this in our CPR classes, but when it happens for real...it's a very scary thing to see.
