  1. Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield
  2. Both albums were very different...I'd be hard pressed to choose, but I guess it would depend on my mood that day.
  3. Rumors - Timex Social Club
  4. AC is nice if you stay on the boardwalk and near the casinos. It will be too cold to swim, but nice enough to walk and enjoy the sea breeze. We are planning a family vacation for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary this August. They didn't want us to spend money and go anywhere we had to fly, so after considering the Jersey shore, the Poconos...everyone's coming to our house. We live 10 minutes from a water park and within a decent drive from so many beautiful places, plus we have a lake and beach right in our neighborhood. It'll be so much fun..thank God we have 5 months to prepare. It'll take me that long to get the house organized
  5. Last day at the supermarket. Not really sad to go, but a bit nervous about new job tomorrow. A couple of people who used to work there have already given me some subtle warnings. I'm just trying to tell myself that everyone's experience is different and if it's that terrible, I will give myself six months and look for something else. In the meantime, just enjoy the learning experience and having some money in my pocket
  6. Hubby and I don't celebrate, and I had to work, but we still had a nice dinner together as a family and I gave my daughter lots of chocolate.
  7. I saw "The Martian" this weekend. Awesome!!!! Loved the mix of humor, drama and science. 9.5/10 "Kung Fu Panda 3". Took my daughter to see this one. I liked it better than #2, which was a little too dark (and boring) for me. This one was more lighthearted and more in the spirit of the original. 8/10
  8. OK, here are my picks, totally at random since I have only seen one of the nominated movies Best Picture: The Revenant Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio Best Actress: Brie Larson Best Supporting Actor: Sylvester Stallone Best Supporting Actress: Alicia Vikander Best Director: Alexander G. Inarritu Best Score: The Hateful Eight Best Song: Earned It (the only one I've heard)
  9. If not for EWF, soul and R&B would not be the same. May he rest in peace
  10. Thanks, edna. It isn't my husband who's like that, it's my mother-in-law. She has early stage dementia now, but for years, she has been a negative person, or at least puts that energy out. If it's sunny, it's "too bright", if it's raining, then "The day is ruined" etc. We all feel like that at times, but if it's constant, it's not healthy. Anyway, I got the job I start on Feb 18. I actually just wrote my resignation letter for my supermarket job. I will be in a great mood my last two weeks there
  11. False, I only give Valentine's Day gifts to my daughter. The next poster is ready for a change
  12. oops, sorry I was a few pages behind...carry on
  13. I became aware of Glenn Frey in the '80's, "The Heat is On", "You belong to The City", "Smuggler's Blues". Songs of my teenage years. In 1988, I went to Colombia to connect with my cousins over there and they took me to several parties and clubs. "Hotel California" was played all the time and was revered. Being unaware of the meaning of the lyrics, couples danced to it romantically and people who knew I was an American begged me to translate. Good music will always find an audience, no matter the era or country it's played in.
