Jenny Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Tupac Shakur? If they're going to include rap, it should be a separate list and not put them in with singers. Steve Perry? Aretha Franklin? Marvin Gaye? Levi Stubbs from the Four Tops? Ann Wilson? Where are they? Mariah has a good voice, but the best voice.....well, maybe if she focused more on using her vocal gifts than her....um...other gifts, she could be taken more seriously as a singer.
DiggsUK Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Where are Tom Jones and Dusty Springfield? Who are Tupac wassisname and Mary Jane Bilge? No Poly-Styrene? I'm clearly getting old...
Sweet Jane 61 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I think it might be interesting one time thing, where is Farin, he helps me with stuff like this, he is awesome!
_Laurie_ Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 No Roger Daltry??? I always thought he had the perfect voice for rock....
The Seeker Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 No Roger Daltry??? I always thought he had the perfect voice for rock.... I've never agreed more with anything anyone on SF has ever said. [smaller] it's Daltrey, though[/smaller]
_Laurie_ Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Thanks Seek, for the correction...I'm not very good with speeling...
Rayzor Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Hey! They forgot Milli Vanilli on that piece of crap list!
Floydaholic Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 This list is a piece of s##t!!. Who was the one who made these decisions?!. Why are Kurt Cobain, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion all above David Bowie, Robert Plant and Michael Jackson??. And that's just to name a few errors with this list.
Farin Posted June 30, 2007 Author Report Posted June 30, 2007 1. MTV & Blender magazine 2. I have absolutly no idea 3. check out this thread
Floydaholic Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Thanks for posting that. I'm mad tired now, but I'll have a better read of that thread and reply to it tomorrow. Goodnight.
blind-fitter Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Crivvens! I've only just noticed.... No Elvis Presley......
Floydaholic Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 The people who created this list obviously know nothing about music, and deserve to be shot.
Otokichi Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 I have a better suggestion for terminating those tin-eared ink slingers. Lock them in a room and play 24/7: Slim Whitman's Greatest Hits! (That should blow out their tiny brains posthaste.)
tallulah2 Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 That list sucks--they're just taking people who are popular today. Any list that wouldn't include Ann Wilson or Stevie Nicks or Aretha Franklin is a list I can't get on board with. JEWEL? Really, MTV and Blender?
musiclvr Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 Where is Ann Wilson? Yes that was one voice that should have been listed. Also Dale Krantz, she started out as a backup singer for 38 Special and then the lead singer for The Rossington Collins Band. Very powerful gutsy and gritty voice. She reminded me of Janis Joplin, that in your face raw passion. Too bad she never tried to make it on her own, she just might have with the right people behind her talents.
Foolonthehill Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Here's my list: Justin Hayward Greg Lake Peter Gabriel Paul McCartney Meat Loaf Elton John
edna Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Grace Slick. She´s an amazing singer but as she also was a sort of hippie freak, she´s underrated.
Ombre Vivante Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 1. Mariah Carey 2. Freddie Mercury 3. Whitney Houston 4. Bono (U2) 5. Christina Aguilera 6. Alanis Morissette 7. Kurt Cobain 8. Björk 9. Celine Dion 10. Tupac Shakur 11. Michael Jackson 12. Chris Cornell 13. Robert Plant 14. David Bowie 15. Alicia Keys 16. Steven Tyler 17. Jewel 18. Thom Yorke 19. Mary J. Blige 20. Michael Stipe 21. Sade 22. Bruce Springsteen and what do YOU think? I think this is a fatwa list... AND I READILY CONCUR
lonelyday Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 ugh...i can see this list is useless...but Alanis Morissette??? i really can't stand listening to her voice...let alone suggesting that it is great
Steel2Velvet Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Rock didn't just start up in the mid-1970's. Don't you have to give a nod to Ray Charles, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney and Jay Black?
Tony Baloni Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 The only problem I have with that list is that Jon Anderson was not number one.
