Danielj Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Nicely done, you have two posts and i like you already. Linkin Park cannot play anything. BOOOOOOOOO
Danielj Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Yeah sorry, my angr has been building up because of all the times you have said Linkin Park rule. Sorry Man, but go out and buy yourself Echoes-Pink Floyd. Then I promise i wont diss you anymore.
_Jayson_ Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Yeah everybody knows Linkin Park is way better than Pink Floyd.
_Jayson_ Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Anybody that has heard the :bow:Hybrid Theory album would have to agree. I mean all their talents come together to form nothing less than a masterpiece.
Nirvana2k4 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 I thought this was the "best guitar players" thread? Not the "we can make hip sounds on a computer band thread" . . . Maybe I'm mistaken . . .
fidelityfiend Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 The Hybrid Theory was a good release, for what it is. But it absolutely does not qualify the guitarist as one of the best in his craft. Listen to something else, I can give you a list of current bands who's guitarists blow LP away hands down. Start with No. Mississippi All Stars and Los Lonely Boys. One other thing - Pink Floyd is one of the most talented and influential bands (a rare combination) of the rock era. Listen to them and explore........be careful with that axe Eugene............
miamisammy29 Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Yeah everybody knows Linkin Park is way better than Pink Floyd. Jaaaayson, do I detect just a HINT of sarcasm? Naaaah, couldn't be.
les paul Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Hi, there I've always thought that Gilmour is unlikely to be mentioned often. Hendrix or McLaughlin are by far more predictable. That's why it's especially nice to meet someone who thinks the same. Well, I am not keen on "the final conclusions", yet I think that blokes like Piter Green, Robert Fripp, Rory Gallagher, Elmo' James can't be left out.Ray Cooder neither! Alvin Lee, Ritchie Blackmore and Mick Taylor also could't half play.
les paul Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Mark Knopfler is also...excellent. But Gilmour is the one and only.
Evil__carrot13 Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 i didnt see the point in this one so i didnt bother reading it its Jimi all the way he has been knighted as such and so it shall stand
Zeppelin_TheBest Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 are u disin on linkin park ........ i'm watching u dude :: :: beware. I agree with danije over this linkin park is a buch of freaks who know how to hit their instruments but the best guitarist has to be either Jimmy Page or Eddie Van Halen
Zeppelin_TheBest Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Yeah everybody knows Linkin Park is way better than Pink Floyd. Are you on acid or are you just a nut david gilmour could school any new guitarist today even though he is getting on in life
Zeppelin_TheBest Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I agree with what your saying and i respect your choice but i thought this was a question of skill and im just say even as they get on in life that page and halen are still 2 of the most skilled guitarists ever and that ever will be. an example just listen to white summer by zeppelin and you will know what i am talking about
evan33594 Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Yeah everybody knows Linkin Park is way better than Pink Floyd. you've got to be kidding me
VanceAstro Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 OK, Hendrix is #1. It is great to see that so long after he died he is still recognized as such, by young and old alike. Some great names have been talked about here, many of which I agree with. My top ten would also include Page, Van Halen, Stevie Ray, Satriani, Slash, David Gilmour, among others. But lets not forget the father of rock'n roll guitar; Johnny B. Good himself, Chuck Berry.
fidelityfiend Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 looks like Carl's been busy with LPP....... the consensus appears to favor Jimi, Jimmy and Dave although not necessarily in that order - Eddie gets honorable mention....
kellie rockin in the free world Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jimmy Page! :happybanana: and me .....no I am just jokin :guitar:
Karhul Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 you've got to be kidding me Calm down Evan!!!!. He's just back on the fags!.
Karhul Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jimmy Page! :happybanana: and me .....no I am just jokin :guitar: No, your just as good, and as good as Brian May too!!. :guitar:
skankHAYWIRE Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 no one has mentioned probably the three most versatile guitarists of all time, these guys could do it all, power rock, classical, and flowing blues...... and those three are Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Steve Howe
im_thelumberjack Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Alright for the Record Linkin Park Sucks. When you have to go to drop d because power chords are to tough for you then you shouldn't be a guitarist. David Gilmour is a brilliant mind. In my opinion he is not one of the best guitarist skill wise but unstoppable for his innovations. The top guitarists are: Yngwie Malmsteen (The fastest playing guitarist in the world also can play both rock and classical) Steve Vai (If you haven't heard of this guy then you shouldn't be reading these threads) Joe Satriani ( Hell, this guy taught Steve Vai also has the mythlogical three finger tap) Eric Johnson (Listen to Cliffs of Dover one of the best songs ever recorded) Jimi Hendrix is way to overated and isn't nearly as good as these guys. Though influential and I shall remember him for that.
im_thelumberjack Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Oh yeah way to go for Cindy with Her cool qoute from Rush's Freewill Rush ROCKS!!!
katie_sane Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Johnny Ramone and Ace Frehley ROCK. I suppose I would have to add Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page too. :guitar:
