  1. no one has mentioned probably the three most versatile guitarists of all time, these guys could do it all, power rock, classical, and flowing blues...... and those three are Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Steve Howe
  2. umm seeing as how i am a guitarist for one of the better (IMHO) bands in the philadelphia area, i would hope i could play a lot on guitar. Some of myfaves include: Blackbird- the Beatles Silent Lucidity- Queensryche pretty much the entire zeppelin catalog most of the Lynyrd Skynyrd catalog most of the Korn catalog (i used ot be a big fan, not so much anymore) All the [bleep] my band does (H.A.Y.W.I.R.E. OFFICIAL BAND SITE, if ya wanna check it out) Any number of black and dirge metal material from the last 20 years. :happybanana: :happybanana:I ROCK!!! :happybanana: :happybanana:
  3. the scene was kent state, it is one of the most infamous examples of police brutality (in the opinion of most) in recent american history. To add a couple of my own: Gordon Lightfoot- The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (a ship that sank in the icy winter waters of the great lakes some years ago, not 100% clear of the exact details) Rammstein- Mein Teil (written about Armin Meiwes, also known as "Der Metzgermeister" (the master butcher). Found a willing victim to be slaughtered and eaten by Meiwes in 2001.) I understand that my selections may be diverse and possibly even disturbing ot some, but without people like Herr Meiwes on this planet, we would be bored s%@#less with the same news day in and day out. I personally believe that a person should be able to do what they want as long as any others affected agree to the risks and consequences of their actions.
  4. blue monday, monday (new order+ the mamas and the papas) for those about to rock the cradle of love (ac/dc+billy idol) pet semetary(cemetary) gates (ramones+pantera) sweet child o' mine (mein) herz brennt (GNR+rammstein) welcome to the jungle love (GNR+ morris day and the time) No time to cry little sister (sisters of mercy+ gerard mcmann) long distance runaround (not really a before and after, but yes+blues traveller) sister christian woman (night ranger+type o negative) lol, one (u2+metallica+three dog night+pearl jam+ like 400 other bands that have had songs titled "one") smells like teen spirit in the sky (nirvana+ norman greenbaum) is this love song (whitesnake+ the cure) fade to black and white room (stones or metallica+ michael jackson or static x+ cream, triple word score, lol) i could do this for hours, but i will leave it at this for now
  5. here's a list of other bands that have done pink floyd covers: pearl jam, wyclef jean, love and rockets, bruce springsteen, marilyn manson, radiohead, dave matthews band, phish, primus, velvet revolver, system of a down, tool, blind melon (with pearl jam), smashing pumpkins, and the austin lounge lizards(did a bluegrass version of manic depression that is funny as h3ll)
  6. mushroomhead (another korn-esque nu-metal group, but much better IMHO) did a short cover of empty spaces on their album XX. Of course we can't forget the cover of have a cigar by the foo fighters with brian may behind the proverbial helm. and a very little known one, in fact i forget the name of the band. An industrial group form germany or austria did a freakin great cover of wecome ot the machine, if i remember, i will reply with their name
