edna Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Madrid is back to normal. It´s springtime now.
Otokichi Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Hawai'i is having an "El Niño"-type Winter. Long stretches of sunny skies, passing clouds, and not much rain. Normally, it would be rainy and miserable for tourists, but good for the watershed/rainwater replenished water supply. Overnight lows have yet to drop into the 50's Fahrenheit so far, with 78-85 Fahrenheit days. Normally tradewinds would cool things off, but Kona/South winds predominate, making it hot and sticky. The tourists are in seventh heaven, while locals worry about Summer brush fires and the threat of water rationing. Of course, we could have a nice, stormy Summer, instead.
lonelyday Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 it has been unbelievably hot and muggy lately, and mostly overcast, yet i still managed to get sunburnt on tuesday
Batman Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 about 50 degrees farenheit and cloudy. Best weather possible!
katie_sane Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 38 degrees celcius (100 degrees farenheit) here today. Clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight.
The Seeker Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I'll come and visit you, Katie..it's about -2 degrees celsius here.
PSYCHOcatholic Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 the weather in alabama is going Kooky! Ive seen the birds migrate 4 times already...they dont know whether to come or go!
katie_sane Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I'll come and visit you, Katie..it's about -2 degrees celsius here. Our winters are cold but not that cold! We rarely break the 0 degrees celcius barrier.
RonJonSurfer Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 38 degrees celcius (100 degrees farenheit) here today. Clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight. That sounds nice to me....
Shawna Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I don't know what the temp is outside these days, probably somewhere in the upper 60s-low 70s. But it's clear and sunny all the time. We're at over 100 days of no rain and counting. Brad can't believe anyone could experience a winter like this.
Earth-Angel Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 God I hate winter.... For those who feel the same...
_Laurie_ Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 This is amazing, this great!....50 degrees in western ny and the sun is shining....I love it...I know this is too good to be true......a storm has gotta hit us sometime...but when?
MarcM Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 68 in the day time, then down to the high 50's at night. It has been very windy, though, bringing high fire danger.
Levis Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I love winters! snuggly quilts, hot tea, cointreau, long nights, my birthday... It's becoming warmer now. 24 degrees. so for a lot of people here that's summer... but merely an ebbing winter for me.
Batman Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Yet another 50 degree day...yes! But there was a little rain...lame. I think the best weather you can have is a completely grey sky, 50 degrees, and no rain. It really doesn't get much more perfect than that. The cold is is too cold for me. The hot is too hot for me. 50 degrees is just right!
MarcM Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 83 degrees today and, finally, no wind. The wind is supposed to pick up again in the next few days and there are again going to be "red flag warning" days. I am starting to get the itch for a motorcycle road trip. The next one is at the end of April and we are just now beginning to plan. I hope I am physically able to go...
Shawna Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Marc, you need to hop on the 10 and ride those motorcycles to Phoenix!
MarcM Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 We are thinking about Imperial Hot Springs, maybe Blythe and a few other weird desert locations where we can observe the locals like Marlin Perkins. We usually venture into Yuma, too. My friend and I like to go looking for reptiles. I like to look, he likes to catch them. Especially rattlesnakes
DiggsUK Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Do you think my family would notice if I vanished for two weeks and came along too? It is deceptively cold here, and the thought of riding with the sun on my back and the breeze billowing my jacket really appeals right now. Just one thing though - could I come on a Guzzi Griso? Regards
Batman Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 It was warm today. About 60 degrees farenheit. Finally, I got to put on shorts and a T-shirt and go for a bike ride!
MarcM Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Do you think my family would notice if I vanished for two weeks and came along too? It is deceptively cold here, and the thought of riding with the sun on my back and the breeze billowing my jacket really appeals right now. Just one thing though - could I come on a Guzzi Griso? Regards Seeing as how you are English, I suppose we could overlook the fact that you were not on an American bike. We have had Triumph riders in our midst before, so I guess a Guzzi would be OK. I think it would be great to have you along, Iain. A fresh perspective is always welcome, but I think the missus may notice that you were not around... BTW, guzi is Yugoslavian slang for buttocks. I have always liked the idea of a motorcycle being called a "motor ass."
DiggsUK Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 A 'motor ass' with two air-cooled cylinders and a big shaft? Getting into Blind Fitter territory hear, I fear! BTW, what is it with American car names. I walked past a Dodge 'Ram' today and couldn't help laughing!!! Regards
daslied Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Everything here is some sort of phallic symbol. I hope to one day drive an Intrepid.
