Sweet Jane 61
Thanks BnW, I will check it out tomorrow. I don't need to cry again... I mean Stay got to me big time, in a way it was like she was in my head. But I listened to it a few times because of her voice. Man very powerful and beautiful. blue_n_white
Thanks BnW, I will check it out tomorrow. I don't need to cry again... I mean Stay got to me big time, in a way it was like she was in my head. But I listened to it a few times because of her voice. Man very powerful and beautiful. I think she will be a huge, huge star in different kinds of music. Like you said, she has a great voice and she co-writes a lot of the songs Sugarland performs. Sugarland was a trio and is now a duo. I think she will go solo at some point and branch out more.
Shawna
Sugarland was a trio and is now a duo. I thought so! Jane - Sugarland is one of Peaches' favorites, also. I think they're wonderful.
Super Ry 71
Does anyone else think that The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" is well suited to Neil Young's voice?
TheLizard
It would be an interesting cover, but I think Roger Daltrey sings it just fine.
_Laurie_
Ummmmm, not really Ry...I think it's more suited for Roger.
Rayzor
I second that sentiment, Lizz... I'm a Neil Young fan and he'd do a good job, but the Who do it well enough... (remember Limp Bizkit's attempt?)

blind-fitter
okay, tell you what: I'm convinced when someone can show me an official album/single cover, book, DVD or anything with "The Ramones", okay? I have seven albums by the Ramones and every single one of them supports the cause of it being simply RAMONES The Cure are definitely The Cure and I'd like to see proof of them ever being referred to otherwise. The Sweet were also The Sweet, as far as I remember. Certainly all the singles I have are credited to The Sweet.
The Seeker
I always knew SFers were bright people but this just proves it once again.

johnny
The Cure are definitely The Cure and I'd like to see proof of them ever being referred to otherwise. Score 1 for johnny.... And they didn't officially drop the "The" but they didn't have it on these three albums....
Super Ry 71
How cheap must one get to just tape pictures on for an album cover?
johnny
I know that was a joke but seriously, they're real official Cure albums....

Farin
according to wikipedia Paris and Show are both official live albums... and I just saw Wish is the same... One of the more unusual aspects about The Cure from this era (including Paris and Show) is that the band were simply called "Cure" on cover and promotional artwork. They did not officially change their name however, and "The" returned for their next album.

Farin
just saw this in a music magazine: the lyrics of the century: I'm a rocker yeah Baby I'm a rocker That's right I'm a rocker yeah A g*****n rocker yeah That's fine I'm a rocker yeah Baby I'm a rocker That's right I'm a rocker Jesus I'm a g*****n rocker That's fine Rocker ~ The 69 Eyes Edited October 22, 2007 by Guest soap in mouth
johnny
^ I haven't even heard of the band. And if that's really in the 'Lyrics Of The Century', somebody at that magazine should've been fired....
Farin
it's some not-so-known band from... Finland I think? and the "lyrics of the century" is of course used sarcastically, mockingly maybe I should have made that more obvious
