Farin Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 There are alot of CD's out there that have some kind of claim on them (Best Rock Anthems!, Greatest Hits of the 80's!, etc, etc) But in reality it's just a collection of music from that label as yet another means of ripping money from the public's hands. I've seen an album titled "Heavy Metal's Greatest" or something like that and it featured the Eurythmics. What? what he said
Jenny Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Laurie is quietly taking over the world....Pandora is playing "Come And Get It" by Badfinger right now. I used to think this was by the Beatles
_Laurie_ Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 ^^^^^this makes me very happy^^^^^^^^^^ Badfinger ....but then again, my residents told me Clay Aiken sang "Without You" at the concert...
Super Ry 71 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Yeah, 'tis a shame our fellow British/French/German/European friends can't get this yet. I've heard they're working on that problem though.
The Seeker Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Yet? We were able to listen to it not too long ago.
Levis Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Yeah, 'tis a shame our fellow British/French/German/European friends can't get this yet. I've heard they're working on that problem though. Ignore the biggest continent in the world, why don't you?
TheLizard Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 That's what people that live here will tell you, anyway.
Farin Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 anybody already heard the similarities between Bowie's "Teenage Wildland" and R.E.M.'s "Airportman"?
Sweet Jane 61 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 You know I love music, the way it can pull you in and you can crawl into a song and feel every emotion and note in your heart and soul. It can comfort you when you're down or just add that extra something special to your day. They say a smell or an image can trigger a memory, well I think music triggers memories more than anything.
The Seeker Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Where's the "What Song Is Stuck In Your Head" thread gone? I wanted to complain about Seven Nation Army being stuck in my head. Not complain as such, but I've no idea how it got in there.
Farin Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 it seems some mod decided that it should be joined to a slightly smaller thread from 2004
miamisammy29 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 "We are the Mods, We are the Mods We are, we are, we are the Mods We are the Mods, We are the Mods We are, we are, we are the Mods"
skybluesky Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Some mods are mods Some mods are rockers and some mods are mockers
_Laurie_ Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 I was taking my daughter to work, and "Spirit In The Sky" came on......she says " Gee Mom, this is such a happy song about dying"....
skybluesky Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 According to Wikipedia Stephen King's 2006 book Lisey's Story includes part of the lyrics to Ryan Adams' "When the Stars Go Blue" in the beginning.
MindCrime Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 master of puppets & sober both in the top 10
_Laurie_ Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 You know, no matter how many times I hear Hotel California, I will never get tired of that great guitar solo.... :guitar:
Farin Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 I'm actually quite surprised that nobody mentioned Elvis today, or even make a homage thread or something... in the news today, when they're not talking about terrorists, they only talk about him...
