Farin
I just noticed that every entry to songs by the Ramones in SF are credited to "The Ramones", but I only know them as "Ramones"... is it one of these UK - US differences?
johnny
I'm not sure but I know what you mean Farin. On lots of different CD's/Books I sometimes see "Ramones" and other times see "The Ramones".... I'm not sure....
Farin
really? umm, as far as I can remember on every cover I only saw them as "Ramones" without 'The' but music resources on the internet don't agree either... on allmusic they're "The Ramones", in Wikipedia they're "Ramones"
johnny
Well anyway my favourite Ramones song is "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down"
_Laurie_
Isn't it the same way with "Sweet"...I always thought it was "Sweet"...but I've seen it as The Sweet also...
Farin
Isn't it the same way with "Sweet"...I always thought it was "Sweet"...but I've seen it as The Sweet also... yes, but in that case there's an official explanation: "Sweet" were referred to as "The Sweet" on albums before 1974 and singles before 1975 does anyone know if something like that applies for the Ramones too? or is it "call 'em as you want"? johnny
Yeah it happenings with a few different bands. The Smashing Pumpkins were just "Smashing Pumpkins" on their first two albums and the most current album, but for the rest of them they were "The Smashing Pumpkins. On one of The Cure's albums it just says "Cure" with no The.
Farin
okay, tell you what: I'm convinced when someone can show me an official album/single cover, book, DVD or anything with "The Ramones", okay?
TheLizard
Ramones/The Ramones are trying to confuse you. They're punk like that.
Red Fish
Or maybe it's like Led Zeppelin. Originally they were "Led Zeddlin." But since Jimmy Page hated Americans, he said, "Let's change the bloody thing to 'Zeppelin', though I doubt those yanks would even know how to pronounce that." I don't know where I'm going with this anymore.
_Laurie_
A Peter Gabriel Song came on today and I thought it was Steve Winwood at first...Do they sound alot alike, or is it just me?....
edna
They do, Laurie. I was listening to a tape in the car the other day and asked my husband since when he liked Steve Winwood... he said it wasn´t Winwood but Peter Gabriel. blind-fitter
After several months...the tape-player in my car is finally working again. :happybanana: This week, I have mostly been listening to The Triffids. Sweet Jane 61
I have a tape player in my car, I still have a ton of tapes, also have a CD player, and go back on forth on which one I listen to. I do not in any way miss my 8-tracks...especially when it changed track in the middle of the song!!

Sweet Jane 61
I tried replacing vinyl with CD's but you just can't unless you are wealthy. And I still like to listen to my albums, yeah they may have some scratches but I don't mind. As for my tapes, alot are ones I recorded of friends albums back in the day. Sweet Jane 61
I just watched a video for a country song that a friend suggested I check out, it is by Sugarland, one of the better new country groups. He told me about it because of the lead singers voice, she has a great powerful voice. But the song, wow, it just hits your heart hard. Check it out. Stay ~ Sugarland

Stay ~ Sugarland The lead singer of Sugarland is Jennifer Nettles and yes she has some pipes. I'm sure you heard her with Bon Jovi on a song called "Who Says You Can't Go Home". Another tear jerker from them is a song from their first album called "Just Might(Make Me Believe).Check it out.
