Farin Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Music Videos can sometimes be a work of art themselves, be it because of their style, a story that is told, or because it has some unique idea behind it. Here are some of my favourites (I'm sure i can think of more): Pearl Jam - Do The Evolution This video brought me the idea to start this thread. A disturbing look on humankind. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Some cool effects, considering it's from 1975, where music videos consisted mainly of footage of live performances. Fatboy Slim - Praise You What can I say, I like the dance Ich + Ich - Dienen That's a German song, but you don't have to get the lyrics; the video tells the story for itself... "Someday you will serve someone. Someone who's smaller and weaker than you..."

Levis Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I think RHCP tops most music video maker lists. I am particularly fond of Otherside, Aeroplane, Can't Stop, Soul to Squeeze... and Dani California is pretty good too. I like the 'Come as you are' video. I love the bright, happy, yet somewhat ironic 'No Rain' video and I like the profound but ? video of Mmm mmm mmm mmm
MarcM Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 This is a live performance of "Lipstick Vogue" that is most ripping. This is "A Quick One" taken from The Rolling Stones "Rock and Roll Circus." Allegedly, this performance put the Stones performance to shame, so the project was shelved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82usxXFTwZE&search=a%20quick%20one Another great song from R&R Circus. Jenny Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I haven't seen too many videos lately, but I like "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim and there was one by Tori Amos with Adrien Brody in it where one of them was a hand and the other was a foot....that was clever Here's an '80's classic for you, "Cry" by Godley and Creme. MJ ripped this off when he did "Black or White". I am not clever at finding this stuff, but if you can, it's a good one.

Jenny Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Yes, it was, and that's what made it so great. He usually plays these wackos, and here he is smiling and dancing..... I really like your signature, Rachel....that is so me. I am working on being less shy, fo my daughter's sake.
invisible_r Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 you can make it your moto! i wrote it in a goodbye letter to my best friend just before we left for uni, and from a shy introverted guy he has turned into a fun-loving extrovert, it's bizzare!

teababe27 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly Orgy - Blue Monday Alice In Chains - No Excuses Rage Against The Machine - Sleep Now In The Fire Godsmack - Straight Out Of Line
Levis Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Oh yea! The Foo Fighters make awesome videos too! I love Learn to Fly and Big Me
Tenacious_Peaches Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I'm strangely drawn to the video for "Learn to Fly". I wonder why...
Shawna Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 a slightly different realm of music, but I think the song "Trying To Find Atlantis" by Jamie O'Neill is hysterical. Too bad she screwed up the video so bad. There were so many things she could have done with that and someone dropped the ball.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 You're right, Shawna. That video doesn't match the song. They tried to hard to make it cutesy. I love her voice, by the way.
