  1. There was a lot of hype around this album for mainly two reasons. First one being this is their first album without being on EMI and second one being that you could buy it online for any price you chose to pay. It's hard to pinpoint how this album sounds to their previous ones, there are hints of Kid A and hints of OK Computer, but nothing like The Bends or Pablo Honey. It is not guitar ordinated by any means(like The Bends is). It's not quite as electronic based as Kid A is though. Besides one track it's very mellow and has a moody laid back feeling to it(think Tom Waits' Closing Time gone electric). It's sparsely produced which makes it very different from Ok Computer and gives it a warmer feeling to it. The only complaint I have is that Thom's voice sounds a little too forced on some tracks and too "raw". Overall one of their best albums and highly recommended for any Radiohead fan, whether new or old. 9/10 Tracks you need to listen now. 15 Step, All I Need, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Videotape

  4. Sooo I would like some electronica artists, not a big fan of trance at all. Looking for artists that are along the lines of the harder edge of Aphex Twin and Dj Luna. Hardcore/speedcore/gabba/jungle etc would be pretty much what I'm looking for.... Thanks!
  5. There is someone outside of Japan who's heard of Boris?! *gasp* Other foreign bands that come to mind are Rammstein, Finntroll, Die Sterne(when I'm in the mood), Kraftwerk, Ozomatli( I guess they count?)
  6. I'm not sure if I really believe music would be better if there MTV never became popular or never existed in the first place. No matter what we will always have "bad" artists around. As long as some people enjoy a certain style music there will be people who disagree with that style(in this case the over-commercialized pop music.) Believe it or not there were people who thought Disco was the next best thing. Were they wrong in thinking so? Most people think so(myself included) but does that mean it was bad? I think that's up to interpretation. Errr I'm getting off track here, my point is that no matter if have MTV, VH1 or PUL(yes I just made up a new station) there will always be "bad" artists. Most people will agree that The Beegee's were "bad", but hey there wasn't an MTV in the 60's. To sum this whole rant up MTV(or having an equivalent of MTV) does not equal bad music.

  20. One of the stupidest things I've done was yesterday when I was in the car and I stopped at a rest stop to get a bottle of water. I purchesed the water and before I opened it I shook the water thinking it was iced tea and I thought wow this tea is pretty bland. Yeah I only had 5 hours sleep....
