CanAm Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 haven't done a "WHO'S THAT" pic in a longtime.....so who is this group? From left to right: Kim Berly, Rich Dodson and Ronnie King of the Stampeders. Wow, Laurie! I didn't think anyone outside of Canada had ever heard of The Stampeders. They had several hits in Canada (Wild Eyes, Then Came The Whiteman, Clap For The Wolfman, Oh My Lady, Carry Me and Sweet City Woman), but I wasn't aware that any of their songs had cracked the charts in the U.S. They were the headliners at the first rock concert I ever attended. My, how time flies.
Uncle Joe Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Sweee-eee-eee-eee-eet Sweet City Woman! Good one.
_Laurie_ Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) One of my favorites also!....heard it on the radio the other day....while driving to work the other day.....good tune! Oh by the way...good job CanAm!...I didn't think anyone would get it!...I'll have to dig up another old pic. Edited April 12, 2006 by Guest

Lucky Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 ^^^^That's great. Go For Soda ~ Kim Mitchell might as well go for a soda, nobody hurts, and nobody cries might as well go for a soda, nobody drowns, and nobody dies About the third time I heard this I realized it's a great song!
easyrider1092 Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Some of my favs here are: Come on Eileen, Spirit in the Sky, I ran, Too Shy is alright. kk I'm off to look at Born to Be Wild songfacts.
Cheval Noir Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Some of my favs here are: "I ran", "Too Shy" A Flock Of Seagulls also had a hit with "Space Age Lovesong" and Kajagoogoo's Limahl had a hit with "Neverending Story" Both are pretty good bands, actually, in spite of their perceived one-hit wonderness.
Cheval Noir Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 One Thing Leads To Another ~ The Fixx What about "Saved By Zero" and "Red Skies"?
Earth-Angel Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 To be the one - Passion Star Golden skin - Silversun Twist - Symposium
_Laurie_ Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 What about "Saved By Zero" and "Red Skies"? Oh Yeah... I forgot about those!....good tunes also!
teababe27 Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Blind Melon - No Rain Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Earth-Angel Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Blind Melon certainly were not a one-hit wonder band.
Levis Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Technically they were i.e. they just had one #1 song. But no denying they are incredible music makers. I have complete faith in them. My favourites include Soak the Sin and Change apart from No Rain. As also Mouthful of Cavities and Soul One.
phil Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 Ooh Child by The Five Stairsteps is my favorite one hit wonder. That is a great song. Produced by Curtis Mayfield.
Shawna Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Ooh Child by The Five Stairsteps is my favorite one hit wonder. That is a great song. Produced by Curtis Mayfield. Wasn't this the theme song for Matt Dillon's first movie? I can't remember the name of it...
