Farin
You and your dirty minds all the time You'd probably even argue that Dr. Kitch is not about a dedicated doctor in his daily struggle to provide his care to his patient? Or maybe this Blues standard by Bessie Smith from 1925 isn't about the protagonist trying to provide a meal for her dear husband?

TheLizard
Ever have a moment where a song that you always thought was about everybody you hate turns out to be about you? I've listened to Like A Rolling Stone hundreds of times but today it punched me in the face and gave me a black eye and a bloody nose.
Farin
So, on Thursday I listened to Jonathan Coulton's Still Alive (from the end credits of the game 'Portal') for the first time in ages and then on Friday this song is actually referenced on xkcd ("you're doing science, and you're still alive") and as if that wasn't coincidence enough, tonight a friend on IRC brought up the song as well - without knowing that I listened to it and without having read the comic of the week, I guess
Sweet Jane 61
I was listening to the radio on the way to work, The Springsteen channel on SiriusXM with a guest DJ, can't remember who, but he talked about when you go to a concert there is a song that is your emotional pocket that night...the one that brings the tears to your eyes. Then you can see the same artist again and it will be a different song on that night to hit your emotional pocket. Which is so true depending on what is happening in your life. Emotional pocket, going to remember that one. Cool!
Shawna
that's soooo true, Jane. Every time I see Roger, there's a different song that I hope to hear, depending on my mood that night. Sometimes he'll play the one I'm looking forward to, sometimes not, but it's always a good show regardless.
Sweet Jane 61
I remember the first time I saw Elton John, I couldnt wait to hear YOUR SONG, always get teary with that one. But I cried when he sang ROCKET MAN, the way he sang it just hit my emotional pocket.
TheLizard
It's weird how much more of an impact the music and the delivery can have than the lyrics. Because the lyrics to Rocket Man are, frankly, very silly. But it's still a great song, melodically.
Sweet Jane 61
I know, that is why I was so surprised when I got teary eyed. But Elton was in top form that night and he presented that song to his fans with everything in him. That was back in 1980.
Rayzor
When I saw Kiss it was Beth that got me all choked up. Seeing Peter Criss up there behind a baby grand pouring his heart out really hit me. I always liked the song, but didn't expect it to affect me the way it did. I also had no idea that Criss could play the piano so that was a nice surprise. :pianist:
