that's one family using 9 phone numbers in the same area code.

ah, greed. ;)

I've probably told this story before, but it's worth retelling, I think. My son's good friend's family, complete with 4 kids under the age of 12 at the time, got a new home number. They were receiving a ridiculous amount of phone calls in the middle of the night from people asking for "Denise." When they finally got fed up enough, they asked one guy who called at about 2 a.m. "Who the hell is Denise?" He said, "Uh... a private escort service." They changed the number the next day.

Some years ago we almost became friends with the people calling the former owner of my phone number...

But talking about what bothers me right now... it´s cold. Very cold. And I get up very early, it´s nightime when I get out to go to work...

I don't like when you go to buy something and they ask you for your phone number. When they ask me if they can have my phone number, I smile and politely say "it's unlisted", which it is. I do get "looks", but it's my right not to get harassed by phone calls all evening asking me to buy this or that or informing me about a new product/promotion.

Well I live in a very small town and back then our police were mostly bored and thought it was funny. Besides, the police chief was a friend of mine and had a wicked cool sense of humor.

I wouldn't do it now because our crime has gone up and I wouldn't do that to them. We're talking small town twenty years ago here ;)

Whatever you do, don't follow something metal into an electrical contraption....it only ensues mayhem.

Though, all is not lost. It's still the holidays. Request that which you are without to your beau.

Guys, the same but I don't have a French word for..."Gals."

Not yet, anyway. . .

I'm wondering if anyone outside of AZ has heard about the photo radar cameras they've installed now along the Arizona freeways - and some on the surface streets.

These things are to catch speeders, photograph them, send them a ticket that is $165.00, but the points won't got on your record. It's a money-making scheme for the cities without a doubt.

Since I do the speed limit anyway, that part doesn't bother me in the least. However, the drivers around here are on high alert and reflex tells them to stomp on the brakes the second they see one of those cameras, even if they're already doing 55 in a 65 - they slow down even more. Which causes the rest of us, who are doing 65 in a 65, to slam on our brakes because of their idiocy.

And then there ws the instance last weekend when I was driving home, late at night, almost no one else on the road. Just as an SUV came up on my left, the camera flash went off in my eyes, which caused me to panic thinking I was speeding. But I wasn't. This SUV was just on the other side of me from the camera, and my feeling is that - even though I didn't see him come up on me - he must have been really flying and then slowed down when he saw the camera, but it caught him anyway. Trouble is, since we were neck and neck, I'm wondering how in the hell that camera - which is on the right side of the freeway - was able to catch his plate if I was between it and him. So I'm already wondering how do I fight something like this if I'm the one who gets the ticket in the mail.
