The Seeker
Peaches, you're definitely not alone... I always get started the night before things are due. Unless it's something really important (end of term exams and such), in which case I start up to two or three days early. I've to hand in an essay tomorrow too, but there's so many more interesting things to do... As long as you still get decent grades, it's fine I think
Uncle Joe
I did that, too Fin and Ten Pea. It wasn't until I began working for a newspaper that I learned the importance and necessity of meeting deadlines and getting work done in advance whenever possible. However, when it came to writing essays, features, etc. I had a problem that most writers face. The more time I have to hand it in the more times I'm going to revise, change, edit, tinker, etc. It can drive you nuts.
The Seeker
I'm terrible at editing. I never write drafts either - once I've written something, it's done, I can't get myself to edit it or change it round some more. Now editing someone else's work is a different matter You worked for a newspaper? I never knew
Uncle Joe
You didn't know? Geez. It was in all the papers.
Shawna
I had to walk from Union Hills to Cactus Rd. along the I-17 freeway (if you know the northern part of the valley) Like I said... I lived on Union Hills for the first year I lived here back in '01. Now I live by Metro, in da hood.
Shawna
So, as I'm typing out my last post, my phone rings. It's American Home Shield asking why I did not renew. I tell them it's because when I had a problem with my air conditioner, you guys refused to send me the same vendor you sent me the time before that, who I liked a lot, and instead sent me another vendor who I disliked quite a lot. And at the time, I had called and called, all the up to the president of AHS's secretary and was told, "The first vendor is no longer on the preferred list. You will have to accept the vendor we're sending you." So this gal today tells me, "Well, if I was to make a note not to send that vendor again, and that you liked the first vendor, would you sign up with us again?" closing the barn door after the horse is gone already. Idiots.
TheLizard
One further followup to Friday night's debacle: As part of my punishment by my dorm's rector I had to go to the drug and alcohol center to get a screening. They entered my numbers from Friday (how much over how long plus my weight) into some website. My BAC that night was probably around .36. Holy crap. Farin
is that 0.36‰?
The Seeker
Your rector punished you? No one even finds out about those things here... not even the wardens, and least of all teaching staff. And I'm surprised you could remember how much you had Edit: ah, dorm's rector, not uni rector. TheLizard
is that 0.36‰? I believe so. To put things in perspective, the law here is that if your BAC is .08 or higher, it's illegal to drive... I should be in a coma right now.
Farin
no, that can't be, you would even be allowed to drive a car with 0.36‰, that's why I was confused as I just read on wikipedia in the US BAC usually gets listed in percent, and 0.36% (=3.6‰) makes a lot more sense too just another one of the "small differences"

Lucky
Without a head? Like the black part? Exactly. No thick black plastic part or anything. The top is exactly like the bottom. I think it's called a wallet key.

Jenny
Someone should give that so-called "mother" the same treatment she gave that poor child. Can I volunteer? I could give her a swat or three on the head!
Earth-Angel
This is when you feel so revolted at the human race, that you wonder if there is any point in bringing another into the world. Not if they could end up like those 3 murderers and all the others responsible for letting this little boy die.
Shawna
it's not the first case I've read where children have been thrown to the wolves by those appointed to protect them. It never gets easier to read accounts like this. I've always said, "eye for an eye" - I agree with Jenny.
Uncle Joe
It's things like this that make me sorry that I don't believe in God. If there was a God I could at least believe that these bastards would face real justice some day. They deserve the worst.
