MindCrime Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 A new coach would be an improvement on their part, as long as they select the right candidate with the proper experience and credentials.
TheLizard Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Brian Kelly appears to be the best available choice.
MindCrime Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 He's got a winning record of 75% and two Bowls to his credit.
Batman Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Anyone who watches college football should really try to watch the Oregon/Oregon State game on Thursday at 6 (9 eastern time). Instate rivalry + the winner leads the pac 10 and goes to the Rose Bowl, and it's taking place at Autzen Stadium which holds the record for loudest volume ever recorded at a college football stadium (127 decibels)...there's just no way this isn't going to be an awesome game. Go Ducks!
Farin Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 the groups for the 2010 World Cup: Group A South Africa Mexico Uruguay France Group B Argentina Nigeria Korea Republic Greece Group C England United States Algeria Slovenia Group D Germany Australia Serbia Ghana Group E Netherlands Denmark Japan Cameroon Group F Italy Paraguay New Zealand Slovakia Group G Brazil Korea DPR Côte d'Ivoire Portugal Group H Spain Switzerland Honduras Chile
The Seeker Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I was just going to post this as well. Most groups are a bit boring, but hey.
Farin Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 yeah, true... the hardest groups are probably E, G and A Germany and England (and the US) both got kinda 'middle-hard' groups Italy got the easiest one
MindCrime Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Group C England United States Algeria Slovenia Ha! we don't stand a chance
The Seeker Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Hmm, I think it's pretty clear who's gonna advance in those groups. As for the US... well I doubt you're going to beat England, but Algeria are a bit of a joke so it's just Slovenia you've got to worry about.
MindCrime Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I'm not a fan of the U.S. soccer team. I usually root for Mexico (locally) or the South American teams.
Batman Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 GOOOOOOO DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS! rose bowl here we come!
c_s_1987 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 All of the World Cup groups have one or two teams that are almost guaranteed of making the final 16, but I guess that's pretty normal. Group D is pretty good news for both Germany and Australia - I'd like to think they can both beat the other Serbia and Ghana.
Batman Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Soooo...any opinions on the BCS games this year? Being a rational human being, I obviously think it's a scam. Neither Boise or Texas Christian gets the opportunity to prove themselves. Although I will admit that I am excited, as a Duck fan, since my team will be playing in what I bet will be the most entertaining of the bowl games, and I'm not just saying that because they're my team, I really do think it's the most interesting matchup.
TheLizard Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 As long as cries for playoffs go unheeded, I will have difficulty acknowledging any real college football champion.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I have no opinion myself but since college football reigns supreme in the Peach household, I will report that the men in my family agree with you, TimLizzy.
Lucky Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Woo freaking Hoo !! Whitey Herzog was elected to the Hall of Fame today ..... 'bout time. The era of Whitey ball (back when the team actually ran!) was one of the most successful The Cardnials have ever had, and that man is truly revered, respected, and loved back home in St Louis. Way to go Whitey!!
Steel2Velvet Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 As long as cries for playoffs go unheeded, I will have difficulty acknowledging any real college football champion. Unless, of course, Notre Dame were playing in the BCSNCG. And then it would be legit. As for TCU and Boise State, I think that will be a great game! Two other undefeated teams playing in a bowl. I like it. And, as a Buckeye fan, I have to agree that the Rose Bowl may be the best game of the post-season.
miamisammy29 Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Yeah, like that's ever gonna happen again.
Farin Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) interesting match today: Hannover shot 6 goals in one match, and yet lost 5:3 (!) for the statistic lovers, it's not the first time a team shot 3 own goals... but the last time was in 1963... Edited December 12, 2009 by Guest
