RockyRaccoon Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 I miss Psych so much I've been watching Twin Peaks just because Kyle Maclachlan kind of looks like Timothy Omundson.
Shawna Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 If I was forced to come up with something that was grinding my gears right now, I'd go with the heat. I'm all the way ready to get the dodge outta hell and go to cooler climes. I don't mind the 100 degrees. In fact, unlike most, I even enjoy 90-100 degrees. It's the over 110 for weeks on end that is breaking me - both physically and financially, since my power bill has been insane these past three months.
Mars88 Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 I'd offer to trade you, Shawna, but I know you hate the cold even more. When we were in Hawaii last year, I was chatting with a guy from Australia and I asked him why he was there in December...after all, it is summer for them at that time. He said Australians often go other places to escape the dreadful heat.
_Laurie_ Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 This has been a week from hell for me...sooooo I plan on gettin betrunken, because I deserve it...
edna Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 I'm on vacation for a month but I'm working -for free- as a housewife...
RyanTurtle Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Going to the Rock & Roll hall of fame . . . . And seeing anything related to ABBA
edna Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) I'm home for the whole week... the Pope is in Spain and there are millons of fans invading the town. I thought it would be better than a World Soccer Cup but the young catholics are drunk and screaming all over the subways and streets... I see no big difference witht he Gay Pride week... _Laurie_ Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 Where can I find a sign that says "Please flush the freakin' toilet"?...seriously...The FIL seems to be very forgetful when it comes to this issue...We've told him about it, but nope...still forgets...grrrrrrrr.
Shawna Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 record-breaking 117 degrees today, 113 planned for tomorrow and Sunday, but Monday will cool down. To 112.
Jenny Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 No power for three days. Made it through the storm just fine and then when it was all over...ZAP....I know there are worse things in life, but GRRRRRR
_Laurie_ Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I will never eat at any germ infested buffets ever again, seriously...I got so sick after having the buffet at Ponderosa...I don't know if it was food poisoning or some bug I picked up, but I was sooooo sick for two days, and I had to cancel our wine tour because of that too... I guess I never really thought about how many people, kids, have handled those serving spoons through out the day...I've never been a "germophobic"...but after that I just might..
RonJonSurfer Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I hate to say "Good idea", Laurie, but "Good idea." I have to admit to hitting the cheap buffet every once in a while...but I always think about the other 100 people that ate there the same day too.
Shawna Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 $50 to fill up my gas tank yesterday. That's the most it's been the entire summer.
Jenny Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I have to fill up mine today, and I'll be lucky to stay under $60! Sometimes I wish I could ditch the SUV, but until I'm employed and can make car payments.....gotta drive what's paid off.
RockyRaccoon Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Gas is a pain. And it sucks being a commuter to my college. It's a 45-minute to an hour drive every day. Sucks up a lotttttt of gas. At least I have a manual though, gets decent mileage.
Earth-Angel Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Migrating my work mail from safe, reliable, stable, dependable Outlook to wacky, web-based, out of control gmail. It's fine for personal mail, but it does not cut the mustard for minute by minute professional transactions
Shawna Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 My poor kid. He just went to fill up the gas tank on his car for the very first time and only had $5 in his wallet. He got the $5 worth, came home and said, "I didn't have enough to fill it up." No, it'll take about $50 or so for that...
RonJonSurfer Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 But shopping for him just became easier. Have people buy him gas cards for birthday, Christmas, etc....You can send the GI Joe that you were going to give to him my way.!!
Uncle Joe Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 He's driving?? Get him some condoms with that gas.
Shawna Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 ummm... I didn't buy him the gas...
Shawna Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 I grow so weary of spam. Anyone know where I can take out a contract on these spammers' souls?
TheLizard Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 At one GOP debate, the audience cheered Rick Perry's deplorable death penalty record. At another, they shouted "Let him die!" when Ron Paul was asked what the government should do about a dying man with no insurance. So much for pro-life. At the last one, the audience booed a gay soldier who asked Rick Santorum about don't ask, don't tell. So much for supporting our troops. When the voting public is even more insane and vicious than our politicians, what hope do we have? I am genuinely scared right now.
Uncle Joe Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 When I look at the parade of clowns the Republicans throw up there (intended) my fears lessen. This country couldn't possibly elect any of these idiots. Right? Right? Uh oh.
