OLD 55
Yes, anyone who votes for Rikki Don't Lose That Number automatically qualifies Shawna. You're always welcome to vote, even if you miss nominating. Same goes for all the 'regulars' really. P.S. Sorry Laurie and Joe. I know you started choosing your Tens earlier. Before I finalised nominations, I noticed that Magic Carpet Ride is now in the Songfacts Daily Top 10, so I substituted Born To Be Wild. Hope Farin doesn't mind ! It was his nomination. He's a nice guy though.

Tenacious_Peaches
Chart #3 Wednesday 12th April 2006 3. TO LOVE SOMEBODY - THE BEE GEES 5. TEXAS FLOOD - STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN These are the only two songs that don't have Songfacts. If we love the songs enough to have them chart on our top ten, they deserve Songfacts. I'll compile everything and submit them to the main site. Put your thinking caps on and post any (verifiable) info you can on these two classics. Who wrote them, who else has performed them, any movies or TV shows they have been in, etc. Thanks!

Farin
From Wikipedia: "Texas Flood" is the third track on Stevie Ray Vaughan's debut album Texas Flood. It is a blues song written in compound time and is one of his most well known tracks. Texas Flood has three verses of lyrics but the song is arguably more of a prolonged guitar solo, allowing Vaughan to show off his characteristic electric blues style of playing. During live shows, he would often play portions of this song behind his back, arousing an enthusiastic crowd response.
daslied
The version of this song, and every other song, on the "Live At El Mocambo" DVD is astounding. I think this concert is the greatest guitar performance I've ever seen.
