MuzikTyme
The wedding dance song at our reception was the instrumental, timeless Fluff by Black Sabbath. My fiance at the time and I took three months of ballroom dancing to make our first dance as husband and wife a special one. Fluff was the perfect song for us. ddipas
"I Love You" - Climax Blues Band This is a beautiful song! The first verse and chorus are: When I was younger man I hadn't a care Foolin' around, hitting the town, growing my hair You came along and stole my heart when you entered my life Ooh babe you got what it takes so I made you my wife Since then I never looked back It's almost like living a dream And ooh I love you
Jenny
"I'll Stand By You" the Pretenders "Have I told you lately" Van Morrison "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" Elvis "Just the Way You Are" or "You're My Home" Billy Joel "You're My Best Friend" Queen "True Companion" Marc Cohn "You Belong to me" The Drifters (I could be wrong, if so, someone correct me) At my wedding, I let my husband pick our first dance...he picked "Pride and Joy" by Stevie Ray Vaughan. It surprised everyone who was expecting a "cheesy" love song.
Earth-Angel
I was just wondering what the best "first dance" wedding songs you've heard or used. Some people use songs that they enjoyed as a couple, and then looking back a few years later at the tape, it seemed inappropriate and they wished they had chosen better. I'm looking for a great song for my wedding that has all the meaning in the words and one that most people (the parents and grandparents) will enjoy as it is a big day for them too. boingobaby
We used Heaven by Bryan Adams. Today, it still is "our" song. Probably THE best song today would be Everlong acoustic version but I understand it is not available, legally.
Sweet_Jane
I think the best I've heard were: Harvest Moon - Neil Young (this one definatley stood out from all the rest) Can't take my eyes off you - Andy Williams (?)

XXX
Oh god. Anything but Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight". That is purported to be the most requested wedding song Most everyone doesn't even know that the original meaning of the song is about Mr. Clapton's frustration with his woman's inability to choose a dress for an evening out, so he says to her, "You look wonderful tonight" in order to get movin' :: Try this one: "Two Occasions" by The Deele

_jr_
When my wife and I got married, we met in the middle of the dance floor, held each other close, gazed lovingly into one another's eyes, then Glenn Miller's "String of Pearls" kicked in and we started jitter-bugging. No one knew it was going to happen but us and the DJ. Brought the house down. Just a suggestion.
windy1
Jr what a great idea! Makes me wish I could get married all over again just for that tune. Course the hubby wouldn't know a jitterbug if it jumped up and bit him on the A$$. We used Wild Horses by the Stones cause it was kind of our song anyway. There was a 90's cover of it by a girl that is very pretty. Don't know her name though. Where is my head? Almost forgot, Congratulations Angel, I hope this is the beginning of a long and happy adventure. ::
