Steel2Velvet
Post-Oscar week, it is only fitting that my top two would be songs featured in movies 1. Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (1993) you gotta love a 500-600 lb. man that can handle a ukelele 2. My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion (1997) I love how the Celtic adaptation creates mood to fit the film. 3. Any Day Now - Chuck Jackson (1962) "And my wild, beautiful bird; you will have flown .." very neat line 4. Women In Uniform - Skyhooks (1978) * Discovery of the week (or rediscovery) - I think perhaps someone introduced me to this song in a PTT 5. Castles In The Air - Don McLean (1981) 6. Someone Like You - Van Morrison (1987) 7. Steal the Blueprints - +/- (2006) * see #4 8. You Gotta Be - Des'ree (1995) 9. Middle Of The Road - The Pretenders (1984) * 10. My Friends - Red Hot Chili Peppers (1995) * * New music for me.
