I Started A Joke - Faith No More (1995) (I always wondered if that was meant as a parody ) I think the video reinforces the sincerity of this lyric, as being from the perspective of one who has experienced being the butt of joksters cruelty. As simple as the lines are (or perhaps because of it,) I've always felt this is up among the most emotive ballads ever written. I guess that would make it open to parody - but I don't feel it here.
