RonJonSurfer
It was the late 60's when Album Oriented Rock hit the FM airwaves in the US. It changed the perception of one hit wonders because people knew and really loved many album tracks from bands like Thin Lizzy. So, entire albums may have had success or widespread airplay, but didn't produce hit singles. I don't think of Thin Lizzy as a one hit wonder, but by the definition we are using..they are. edna
"In a gadda da vida", "Build me up, buttercup" or "My Sharona" are some great songs. I believe they all made the Top ten... I also use sometimes the Criteria site... I have a couple of cds with one-hit wonders... some strange compilations you find once in a while for a very small price... RonJonSurfer
Tighter and Tighter - Alive and Kicking (love the fuzzbox guitar) Classical Gas - Mason Williams Tighter and Tighter is fantastic..the guitar work is top shelf. Since this is really Tommy James under another name, it counts as a one hit wonder too. Beautiful.
miamisammy29
David Soul had FIVE big hits in the UK, including two #1s That figures! I could probably have a #1 hit in the UK, and I can't sing or play guitar worth a sh*t.

Seems that is an urban myth. I did a little research and found that this is an entirely diffent group of individuals that forms the group "Alive and Kicking." Tommy James "discovered" the group, is the producer of their music and as such, the song has his influence, but he does not sing on this recording. Farin
nomination #1: What's Up ~ 4 Non Blondes (1992) Video [spoilerq:1]lyrics[/spoilerq] [spoilera:1]Twenty-five years and my life is still Trying to get up that great big hill of hope For a destination And I realized quickly when I knew I should That the world was made up of this "Brotherhood of Man" ...for whatever that means And so I cry sometimes When I'm lying in bed Just to get it all out What's in my head And I, I am feeling a little peculiar And so I wake in the morning And I step outside And I take a deep breath and I get real high And I scream from the top of my lungs What's going on? And I say hey hey hey hey I said hey, what's going on? And I say hey hey hey hey I said hey, what's going on? Ooh, ooh ooh And I try, oh my god do I try I try all the time, in this institution And I pray, oh my god do I pray I pray every single day For a revolution And so I cry sometimes When I'm lying in bed Just to get it all out What's in my head And I, I am feeling a little peculiar And so I wake in the morning And I step outside And I take a deep breath and I get real high And I scream at the top of my lungs What's going on? And I say hey hey hey hey I said hey, what's going on? And I say hey hey hey hey I said hey, what's going on? Levis
^ Thank you... but I still have four songs to choose my nominations from (after narrowing it down) Hi all having fun?
Levis
FOCUS your attention here, s'il vous plait. Apropos earlier difficulties differentiating between one-hit and more-than-one-hit wonders. If you think a song is a one-hit wonder and you want to nominate it, just cross check with a site such as One Hit Wonder Central . If it's there, it's legit. MuzikTyme
Hmmm. One-hit-wonders? Here's one that's always stuck out in my memory-of-mind. Ladies, don't be offended, guys, enjoy! But, everyone enjoy and remember this forgotten one-hit-wonderful song. Hot, summer nights . . .
