Lucky Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Nashville & Memphis are both great for taking in the music scene (done em both). And I know you've been to NOLA, but going for the Jazz & Heritage Festival in late April has also always been a dream of mine.
RonJonSurfer Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 The Jersey Shore...beaches from Sandy Hook all the way down to Cape May. For an incredible boardwalk experience don't forget to visit the Wildwoods (North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest).
Jenny Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I agree about the Jersey Shore, but I would like to add The Delaware Water Gap. We have gone rafting down the Delaware many times and it's lovely, relaxing and fun. You can also float down in a tube. When we were in Florida last month, we went to Fort De Soto Park, near St. Petersburg. Warm, calm water, quiet (well we went during the week) and nice scenery both at the beach and on the way.
edna Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Suddenly my songfacts screen became smaller. The letters are smaller and I can hardly write, I see almost nothing. I guess I touched something but I don't know what I did... Can someone help?
edna Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 This is strange... it honly happens on Chrome... other boards work fine...
Rayzor Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Gotta get that shot in quicker than 2 days later! Must be the time difference...
Rayzor Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Just wanted to ask something and see what you all think. As some of you know, I continue to post my work in "Creative Writing", but lately, with S2V's rare appearances and the disappearance of our other writers it would appear as though I'm trying to claim it as my own. I try and leave a chunk of time between entries, but no one else has posted in a very long time. I was wondering if I should find another outlet (are there many poetry/lyric readers here?) ,not worry about it (more writers will come soon) or maybe something in between?
TheLizard Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 I haven't written in a while, but I read one of my old short stories aloud one night when the power went out and got some very positive feedback, so I might start again when I have the time.
Shawna Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 keep posting! I love reading your stuff! You could also find other outlets, but don't stop posting here, also. I haven't had any time to myself AT ALL to even work on the book I'm (onedaymaybehopefullywithanyluck) going to finish writing. And that's where my creative energy goes in the very small sliver of time I get every other month or so.
Steel2Velvet Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Certainly keep posting, Ray, if you have something to say. Don't wait on anyone else to help you say it, especially me. (I just got back from a couple months in the states - things are brewing. I'll reappear alongside you soon.)
_Laurie_ Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Yes, by all means keep on posting your work!....both of you are very talented...love reading your stuff...
edna Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Ray, I'm not reading the Creative Thread since a long time, I didn't have much time in the last 4 years. Shame on me. Keep on posting and thanks for reminding me there's such a wonderful thread...
Rayzor Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 OK, good... it's just me being paranoid, neurotic and over-anxious again. I know there aren't too many poetry/lyric readers left around (S-Jane is gone, SuperRy too, even MuzikTyme), it's probably the few people who posted in here (3 of whom are writers! ) At least I don't post everything I write or that forum really would belong to me!
TheLizard Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 I've got a story idea I'm fleshing out. Look for it in the next week or two.
TheLizard Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Actually, I finished my work early and I just had a spurt of creativity. The story very short, but I'm proud of it. I'll post it now, so your work won't be so lonely, Ray.
TheLizard Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Ok, it's posted. It's meant as a dark comedy, by the way. It's definitely the weirdest thing I've ever written.
Shawna Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Has any of yous kids ever written and then sent an email that you probsbly shouldn't have and had it totally annihilate your relationship/friendship/whatevership with that person? Or did you find a way to claw out of it and somehow make amends? And if so, please share. I need examples.
TheLizard Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Internet rule #1: STAY AWAY FROM THE INTERNET WHEN YOU'RE DRUNK
Shawna Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 well, not drunk, exactly. Just stupid, and very, very tired.
Rayzor Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Are you kidding? Some of my best poetry was written while intoxicated. But Shawna? Yeah...
