I've read those and they are great books, Tim. Enjoy. I plan on reading Mary Roach's books "Spook" and "Bonk", followed by Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "Love In The Time of Cholera"
miamisammy29
Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "Love In The Time of Cholera" I'd rather wait for the sequel, "Love In The Time of Leprosy".
skybluesky
I plan on reading...Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "Love In The Time of Cholera" Let me know what you think of this one Jenny. I've had it on my shelf forever. I did manage to read 100 Years of Solitude. "Love in the Time of Leprosy" of course you must read the series prequel "A Crush in the Time of Light Sniffles." skybluesky
I read 100 Years of Solitude because Oprah told me I had to or she'd kill a li'l bunny, or whatever she does in her book club. I can see why it's part of the literary canon, but I wasn't doing somersaults over it.
edna
She said that? wow... That book is a masterpiece. At least, for once I agree with all the best-sellers lovers...

Jenny
100 years of solitude is a very good book. It's been quite some time since I read it. Fin, if you want to stay busy and read a huge book, I'd pick "The Stand" by Stephen King. Over 1200 pages, but all of them worth it.
_Laurie_
I love Stephen King...but I never finished reading The Stand...I ended up watching the movie...I wish I did have time to read also....
Farin
another suggestion: Frank Schätzing's "The Swarm" (900+ pages) High-Quality Eco-Thriller, sold more than 2 million copies in Germany and is currently reworked as a movie
The Seeker
Now I just need one more suggestion and I'll have one book per month
MarcM
Read "The Origin of Species" to round out your list, if you have not already. It is comparatively short at a bit over 600 pages. You could read it over a weekend...
The Seeker
No, I haven't... and I just realised the whole book is online for free.
Farin
... it has some positive sides too, because now I come to cleaning out some junk (Java takes up WAY too much space everybody should use CCleaner once in a while ) even now I notice that it boots up faster than it did in quite a while
skybluesky
The town news paper printed a story about my pal Chris, who fought for his country in Iraq and is now home. I'm proud of him.
Tenacious_Peaches
Excellent. I don't believe in the "war" worth a damn, but I have the utmost respect and admiration for those who serve their country.
