Batman Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 depends if the albums are good or not
RonJonSurfer Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 It's from the greatest holiday movie of all time, A Christmas Story. The fudge reference is from a scene where Ralphie, the boy who is the main character of the film, and his father, a man who is notorious for his foul language, change a flat tire on the side of the road. Ralphie loses the nuts and bolts in the snow. As they show them flying through the air in slow motion, we see Ralphie shout out "Oh fudge!" In a brilliant voice over, you hear the grown up Ralphie say, "Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!" It's the greatest scene ever in the history of cinema. That brilliant voice over is Jean Shepherd the author of the book. He narrates the movie and has a cameo....he's the guy in line at the dept. store who says "Hey kid, the line ends here, it starts back there".
edna Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I agree with both statements but I believe the Second British Invasion was a quite different thing. Oh the topic... Plenty of!!!
Steel2Velvet Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Apparently I have stepped into the wrong line at this store again. Here I make it to the front of THIS line and the little sign at the cash register says, "Movie scenes and quotes." I just came from the register with the little sign, "Leet and other irritating ways to post" and prior to that, "Moving threads to correct locations." All I came in here to find out is if a lot of albums is a good thing, or not.
MindCrime Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 No. But having a lot of illegally downloaded mp3's compiled into a large library on ITunes sure is
Farin Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 you really do that? of course I wouldn't even think of something like that... - I'm using a WinAmp library
edna Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 No. But having a lot of illegally downloaded mp3's compiled into a large library on ITunes sure is You´re right but only half right, Mindcrime: both things are good. Having lots of albums and lots of mp3s.
RonJonSurfer Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 I think we've reached a consensus: Having alot of albums is a good thing.
Sweet Jane 61 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 I have to get my 2 cents in here...it is a great thing!! I would rather have albums than CD's and I have a lot of albums!! OK, I now feel at peace with the world!
TheLizard Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Is the original poster asking whether owning a lot of albums is a good or bad thing, or whether releasing a lot of albums is a good or bad thing? For example, Santana has released over thirty albums, but does that make them better than Cream, who I believe only had three albums? i say ... That's not very specific...
Levis Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 I mentioned that but everyone seems to have agreed that 'having' refers to 'possessing' and not 'releasing.'
elie Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 ok let me clarify my self 1rst ime a boy then i ment owning a lot of albums the thing is you allwayse want to discover new music but on the other hands having lots of albums means you cant listen to them all and will probebly forget a few
The Seeker Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 I don't think having a lot of albums means not listening to them all. You might not be able to listen to them in two or three days, but over the course of time you listen to them all more than once. And if you forget them or forget what they sound like, then they're not worth it.
elie Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 yeaih but wen u have more than 50o cds its hard to listen to all of them
edna Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 ur depresing me Maybe this thread is way too long...
invisible_r Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 why does it matter anyway? different things for different moods! plus, i have loads of cds that i never listen to an then one day I remember them and i get really excited and re-discover them!
OLD 55 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 The more the merrier - unless they're ones that you bought just because they were on the "Specials" table, like I did with Janet Jackson's "Design Of A Decade". I never listen to it. I do make a policy of 'rotating' my CDs, especially in the car. Trouble is I don't play my tapes anymore.
yowza52 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 a lot of albums can be good or bad......it depends how good the albums are
Tenacious_Peaches Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I have absolutely no idea what your avatar is, yowza, but I love it.
