Judo
I have no intentions of making this a topical top ten, but to felicitate OlD 55 I'd like to go with: 1. Happy Anniversary (Mel Tillis / Slim Whitman) Another year of love has gone by Thank you for each day you give to me My darling, happy anniversary. Is not getting older much better You bring so much happiness each day Everything you are keeps me so in love I thank to heaven that you came my way. Darling, happy anniversary Another year of love has gone by Thank you for each day you give to me My darling, happy anniversary. Let’s stop and count our many blessings 'Cause love like ours don't happen every day And year after year we'll keep remembering Our anniversary in a special way. Darling, happy anniversary Another year of love has gone by Thank you for each day you give to me My darling, happy anniversary... and 2. The Hawaiian Wedding Song (Jim Reeves / Elvis Presley) This is the moment I've waited for I can hear my heart singing Soon bells will be ringing This is the moment love sweet Aloha I will love you longer than forever Promise me that you will leave me never Here I am now dear, You're my love, I know dear Promise me that you will leave me never I will love you longer than forever Now that we are one Clouds won't hide the sun Blue skies of Hawaii will smile On this, our wedding day I do love you with all my heart

c_s_1987
For a second I thought Black Hole Sun already made the top ten, but it actually missed out by two points. I had to check - it would be quite a bad example if you nominated a song that had already made the ten. You want 90's? You got 90's! (I don't really plan my nominations anymore, so I'll take just about any suggestions). Dappled
Something from 37 years ago... (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice - Amen Corner If paradise is half as nice as heaven that you take me to Who needs paradise, I'd rather have you They say paradise is up in the stars But I needn't sigh because it's so far Coz I know it's where a heaven on earth Will be where you are A look from your eyes, touch from your hand And I seem to fly to some other land When you are around my heart always pounds Just like a brass band If paradise is half as nice as heaven that you take me to Who needs paradise I'd rather have you Oh yes I'd rather have you And something new: City of Blinding Lights - U2

blind-fitter
The Stranger - The Cure Can I just check whether you are referring to "Killing An Arab" ? ("Standing on a beach with a gun in my hand, ... ...I'm alive, I'm dead, I'm the stranger- killing an Arab") Or do The Cure have another song, entitled "The Stranger". I ask only because it'll make a difference to my votes... I could understand, in the current world climate, if the song has had an official change of title....
