TheLizard Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Los Angeles, I'm Yours- The Decemberists
Farin Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 (edited) I forgot to post this, but ^they^ are quite good I think this song's about the difficult relationship of Eddie Vedder and his step-father... Rearviewmirror (LIVE) ~ Pearl Jam I took a drive today Time to emancipate I guess it was the beatings made me wise But I'm not about to give thanks, or apologize I couldn't breathe, holdin' me down Hand on my face, pushed to the ground Enmity 'gaged, united by fear S'pose to endure what I could not forgive... I seem to look away Wounds in the mirror waved It wasn't my surface most defiled Head at your feet, fool to your crown Fist on my plate, swallowed it down Enmity 'gaged, united by fear Tried to endure what I could not forgive Saw things (4x) Clearer (2x) Once you, were in my...Rearview mirror... I gather speed from you f***ing with me Once and for all I'm far away I hardly believe, finally the shades...are raised...hey... Saw things so much clearer } Once you, once you... } (3x) Rearview mirror } Edited January 22, 2007 by Guest We can't have the "f" word floating around here willy nilly, can we?
TheLizard Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 They are pretty good, aren't they? Oh, and those Pearl Jam guys aren't bad either. I think they're gonna be huge!
blind-fitter Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 This epitomises mid 70s UK pop and the "Top Of The Pops experience" as well as any video clip I've ever seen. And also features one of my favourite songs of all-time. So it's "win/win" all round as far as I'm concerned. Same song/also TOTP but not quite as cheesy. Reminds me why I found Noosha Fox strangely alluring.
Farin Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I never heard of either the song or the group, but then I saw that it was a #4 in the UK and #1 in Australia... cool song and now I have it as an earworm... s-s-s-single bed
blind-fitter Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 (edited) There are also a couple of youtube clips of Fox performing on the show "Musikladen", so I guess they must have had some success in Germany at the time. One of these clips is their other big hit "Only You Can" (another of my very fave songs) and one I'd never heard before (until today) "He's Got Magic" Edited January 26, 2007 by Guest add link to "Only You Can"
Farin Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 ah yes, thank you... sadly my knowledge of 70s Disco Pop/Rock is a little bit rudimentary "Only you can" sounds strangly familiar though, but out of these three I like Single Bed the most
Tenacious_Peaches Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 Ollie and Jerry - Breaking There's No Stopping I would give anything in the world to be able to break dance. Why, oh why, am I cursed with the rhythm of an uncoordinated, middle aged white woman?

Red Fish Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 I remember seeing a short clip of that from the VH1 Legends thing on Led Zeppelin. Kinda cool. He certainly improved his playing over the years.
