Tenacious_Peaches Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 Sweet baby Jesus. My eyes...my ears! Once again, the Hoff has offended all of my delicate senses.
Ken Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 I'm heading out to the marina. Anyone wanting to join me, I'm waiting. In the meantime...... Weekend!
Batman Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Please check out this video by Hot Chip. It's called "Over and Over." Even if you don't like the (awesome) music, it's still pretty hilarious! Hot Chip - Over and Over
Ken Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Everyone sing along, because it feels good!!!
katie_sane Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 This is outrages! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3382491587979249836&q=type%3Amusic_video&hl=en Cannot believe that he has ripped off the Ted Mulry Gang's song! The Hoff is spending an awful lot of time in Australia, what is up with that?? I saw this video on VH1 today and thought it was pretty cool... Smiley Faces - Gnarls Barkley
edna Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 I love this song... "Absolutely Sweet marie" - George Harrison
Farin Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 I saw this video on VH1 today and thought it was pretty cool... Smiley Faces - Gnarls Barkley I liked the song, but I've never saw the video until today... It's brilliant!
Jenny Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 In that Gnarls Barkley video, I know the guy in the hat is Dean Stockwell, but is the first guy Dennis Hopper?
Farin Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Dennis Hopper was my first thought, too...
Farin Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 ok here's my song for the day... and a really cool song at that... All Those Yesterdays ~ Pearl Jam PS don't mind the video, I don't think it's original...
daslied Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 These are mainly for Jenny, since she's the only other person that likes them. They were so, so good. Behold Jellyfish (oh, the live harmonies...): "The King Is Half-Undressed" "She Still Loves Him" "Now She Knows She's Wrong" "Bye Bye Bye" "The Man I Used To Be" OK, this one's for Laurie - "No Matter What" "Joining A Fan Club" "The Ghost At Number One"
Jenny Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Dedications from Peaches and das in the same day....I feel soooo popular! I am still learning about them, but they were a '90's band, right? What is with the hippie wear and flowers on the microphone? It's funny....the grunge hair and the fringed suede vest
daslied Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 They were early 90's, yes. At least as far as releasing albums. They did two albums and broke up, the bastards. They're obviously very rooted in 60's music, so I guess they embraced the whole image of it. And they were pretty weird guys. There's another clip on YouTube of them at a McDonalds, and they overdubbed all of the dialogue. Pretty funny.
Jenny Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I really like "The Ghost at Number One" I was on Amazon the other day and they had recommendations for me..based on my Jellyfish purchase, they recommended a group called Dada. I listened to a few sound samples, but thirty seconds of song is not really enough to judge on....opinion?
daslied Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Dada had that goofy song "Diz Knee Land" a few years back. I never really got into them. Every band that's been recommended to me through my Jellyfish obsession has been a disappointment. The Grays were cool, but they only did one album. It was dudes from Jellyfish, naturally. Remember "Very Best Years"? I didn't think so. That was their "hit".
Jenny Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Yeah, I did remember hearing that "Diz Knee Land" song. They sounded OK, but I will have to listen to more to know. My daughter's been asking to go back to the library, so maybe I'll raid their CD collection. I have a long list of recommendations from SF and Amazon and only $50 on a Borders gift certificate, so I have to choose wisely.
Ken Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 There never has been , nor will there ever be anyone as cool as Elvis. No-one with the stage presence, or command over an audience like Presley. And this video shows him totally radiating coolness....
Farin Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 the song of the day, today is: Chumbawamba ~ On eBay From Babylon back to Babylon...
Farin Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 could there be a song more suited today, than The Seeker
Farin Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 just go to youtube and search for "beatclub" or "beat club", there are some pretty cool videos there (and not just from the Who) I just watched The Nice...
