phil Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I know their are many ... here's mine Paul -Let Me Roll It Lennon - How Do You Sleep George - Beware Of Darkness Ringo - It Don't Come Easy
NewYorkMets9 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Paul - Live and Let Die John - Instant Karma George - My Sweet Lord Ringo - It Don't Come Easy
katie_sane Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 John - Nobody Told Me Paul - Maybe I'm Amazed George - What Is Life Ringo - It Don't Come Easy
edna Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 John- just one??? "Gimme some truth" maybe... Paul: "Every day". George: "My sweet Lord" Ringo: "It don´t come easy"
The Seeker Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 John -- Out the Blue Paul -- Maybe I'm Amazed George -- Awaiting On You All Ringo -- Photograph (is that what it's called? I should know that, because I really like that song...)
OLD 55 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Paul solo; that = no Wings' songs "Ringo -- Photograph (is that what it's called? I should know that, because I really like that song...)" Me too Seeker. That'll be my 'Ringo' pick.
RonJonSurfer Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I'll give it a try... John - Gimme Some Truth Paul - Too Many People George - Dark Horse Ringo - Back Off Boogaloo
daslied Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 John - Oh My Love Paul - Here Today or Junk George - I'd Have You Anytime or Isn't It A Pity Ringo - Photograph
DrCowbell Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Hmmm.... John's would be either Watching The Wheels or Instant Karma. Paul's would be Live and Let Die George's without any question would be What Is Life? Ringo...I honestly don't know so much about his solo career.
CanAm Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Paul - Live And Let Die/Band On The Run John - Imagine George - My Sweet Lord/What Is Life Ringo - It Don't Come Easy
OLD 55 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 It looks like Paul "with Wings" counts, so here's my 4. Paul: Mull Of Kintyre (an obscure B side in the U.S. but a huge Hit in the U.K. and Australia). John: (Just Like) Starting Over. George: Got My Mind Set On You. (Wish I could say "Something"). Ringo: Photograph. So I'm a "Pop" person, not arty.
phil Posted February 3, 2006 Author Report Posted February 3, 2006 Old 55, I should have been clearer, Wings is OK.
edna Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Mull Of Kintyre (an obscure B side in the U.S. but a huge Hit in the U.K. and Australia). Really? It was also a hit in Spain and in France.
OLD 55 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Edna, it must have been throughout Europe ! It was the U.K. Guinness Book Of 70s Music #1 Hit of the 70s, ahead of #2 Rivers Of Babylon/ Boney M (also not a U.S. Hit - big in Australia), and #3 Bohemian Rhapsody/ Queen.
OLD 55 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Thanks Phil. Mull Of Kintyre it is then. Good Topic !
RonJonSurfer Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Thanks Phil. Mull Of Kintyre it is then. Good Topic ! It really is a fine song, but it gets zero airplay over here...
daslied Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I think it was huge everywhere but the States.
moneypenny131 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Paul - Maybe I'm Amazed George - All Things Must Pass John - Aisumasen (I'm Sorry) the home version Ringo - Back Off Boogaloo
phil Posted February 3, 2006 Author Report Posted February 3, 2006 Wings had a 1971 lesser known album called Wild Life. It had "Give Ireland Back To The Irish, a version of"Love Is Strange", and somebody once said Paul could have a hit singing "Mary Had A Little Lamb", so he recorded that too.
Skuff Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Does John Lennon/plastic Ono band count? John:Imagine Paul :Band On The Run(That was though!) George: My Sweet Lord Ringo: Devil Woman (This is such a great sone! How can nobody ever NOT like it?!)
ryenzio1 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 John: Instant Karma Paul: Maybe I'm Amazed George: Got My Mind Set On You Ringo: It Don't Come Easy
MindCrime Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 John - Give Peace a Chance Paul - Live & Let Die (Wings count, right?) George - When We Was Fab Ringo - Your 16 & Your Beautiful & Your All Mine
TheLizard Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 "Give Peace A Chance" by John Lennon. By far the best thing that came out of anything any of the Beatles did after the breakup.
Skuff Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Still the only "Devil Woman" liker, I guess! *sigh* :happybanana: Thought i was sad, huh? Well, I like being one of a kind :happybanana: :happybanana: :happybanana:
MindCrime Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Thought i was sad, huh? Well, I like being one of a kind Excellent post! Jonny; I agree about Ringo, I noticed everyone had "Photograph" or "It Don't Come Easy"; clearly 2 of the most overplayed songs, when he had many that were much better.
