Batman Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 This is a tough choice. How about "Dazed And Confused" by led zeppelin?
MindCrime Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 alright Mindcrime, I gotta ask, How did you get the emoticons from the MSN msg?? Right Here just right click over the picture, select properties, then high-lite the exact address, then copy, then paste into the "Image" UBB Code. I'm sure you know how to do this already, but I posted it anyways as a reference. ------- Batman That song suits you
Jillianne Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Something in the way- Nirvana or Fields of gold- Eva Cassidy ::
Jenny Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 For me you can use Moondance by Van Morrison
Batman Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I had a joke type thing I was going to say about that, but I'd better not
Tenacious_Peaches Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I thought the same thing, Batman.
cosmosis Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Thanx for the link, ___. My favorite has always been
MindCrime Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 No Problem Cosmo There's also a link on that page, for Yahoo Icons, on the left hand side of the page. The other links listed don't have any actual pictures. I can't seem to get the Yahoo Devil to work though.
Danielj Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I've been thinking about this long and hard, and at first I thought I'd pick a Beatles, Nirvana, or R.E.M. tune, but then I thought 'Does that explain me' and while there are a few under that category, I came up with something else, a song that I hold near and dear to my heart, this is the song that when I heard it live, it completely changed my outlook on music forever (mellow stuff is the way to go!) and this song is Learning to Fly- Tom Petty Yes that has to be one of the best songs of all-time. "Learning To Fly, But I ain't Got Wings"
EasyRider Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 A Horse With No Name by America.............it is definitely my all time favorite song...
edna Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Otis Redding Try a Little Tenderness Oh, BluesBoy, that one is great!!! I had it on my favourite walkman tape four times, two on each side... By the way, MuzikT, how is your compilation doing?
bluesboy Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 edna, Seems like he was the King of Soul from '64 - '67. ::
MindCrime Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Yes that has to be one of the best songs of all-time. "Learning To Fly, But I ain't Got Wings" I agree, it was one of my favorites that came out at the time & I still like it today. Probably his best song, besides "You Got Lucky" & some of the stuff from Full Moon Fever.
Aunt_Acid Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I like it. It makes me sort of melancholy. I like Tom Petty. It reminds of me of when I was a little kid because I heard a lot of Tom Petty then.
scott Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I like it. It makes me sort of melancholy. Interesting, 'cuz most of the time people get *ahem* 'melancholy' right before they hear the song, not during or because of the song (hell, when I saw Petty do it he was getting 'melancholy' in front of the whole audience)
Aunt_Acid Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Well now I am going to have to listen to the lyrics. Thanks for embarassing me in front of everyone, Scott!
scott Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 'Coming down....is the hardest thing' They're not huge drug references like some Petty songs, but this song is definate 'stoner music' it's mellow to the upteenth power. ::
Danielj Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 When i first heard Tony Joe White, I thought he would be a huge black man. I got the opposite but whatever. What a deep voice. POLK....... Salad Annie!
edna Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Seems like he was the King of Soul from '64 - '67. Have you seen his last performance on video, at Monterrey, lasting about half an hour? It´s incredible, I never saw nobody like him, not even Mick Jagger...
Danielj Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I have that on one of dad's old records it's the Monterrey Pop Festival, one side Otis Redding, the other Jimi Hendrix.
edna Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 You should see the film...Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Ike&Tina Turner... oh, I don´t remember, I´d love to see it again.
