Dappled
1. She Has Funny Cars - Jefferson Airplane (1967). The leadoff track to Jefferson Airplane's second album, Surrealistic Pillow, was an incredible departure. Musically, "She Has Funny Cars" is driven by a hypnotic, Bo Diddley-style beat and a powerful guitar riff that sounds like "Day Tripper" turned inside out. Lyrically, it's a strong bit of social commentary about independence and the shallowness of hypocrisy. The Airplane tie it all together very nicely, with a compact melody, and, aided by new kid on the block Grace Slick's syncopated vocal lines, it reintroduced a still young band to the American consciousness. ~ Review from AllMusic 2. miamisammy29
1. Cross-Eyed Mary - Jethro Tull (Tull's best, man!) 2. Take Your Whiskey Home - Van Halen (Probably their best song that they didn't steal from the Kinks.) 3. Stob Your Sobbing - Pretenders (Another stolen Kinks song, but Chrissie has the right - she was boffin' Ray Davies at the time. David Lee Roth wasn't.) 4. Get Out Of Denver - Bob Seger (And stay out...if you know what's good for ya!) 5. Long Distance Runaround - Yes (Awesome tune! Simply awesome!) 6. Uncle John's Band - Grateful Dead (One of my favorite by the Dead.) 7. Whiskey Man - Molly Hatchet (They sound a lot like Skynyrd. You don't think that's intentional, do ya?) 8. Mony Mony - Tommy James & the Shondells (I first heard this song when I was five years old, and I loved it....that is, until Billy Idol remade it.) 9. Selling The Drama - Live (Not as great as "All Over You", but a cool song, nonetheless.) 10. A Woman In Love (It's Not Me) - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers (Not much to say about this one, other than...Petty rules, man!) Honorable Mention: Lennon, Beck, Seals, Crofts, Butterfield, Baker, Airplane
