  1. Hmm. It'll take some getting used to, as I rather preferred how the old board didn't have the same cookie-cutter look as the few other forums I keep tabs on, but as Bob Dylan once sang, the times they are a-changing. I'm sure this place will feel like normal in no time.

  7. Not all rap/hip-hop music is full of lyrics detailing drug use, violence against women, and more f-bombs than a George Carlin HBO special. Common, Beastie Boys, The Roots, and a lot of 80s rap artists/groups are the antithesis of the gangsta rap genre. You can't judge the whole by some of the parts. I think the only two MCs that don't fit in what I described, yet I still really enjoy, are Jay-Z and Nas. I don't always agree with their lyrics, but I can't deny they're supremely talented.

  9. I'm glad, because I almost chose a combination blender/food processor, but went with the toaster at the last minute. *whew*
  10. Correct! All my nominations this week are covers of Bob Dylan songs. Congrats, Phil, you just won a lovely 4-slice toaster. Thanks for playing.
  11. Nope. Don't look at the years, that's too obvious.

  15. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone who happens by that page, which while one of its charms, is also one of its drawbacks. The first CD singles/albums weren't released until the early 1980s. In fact, the CD itself wasn't even developed until 1979.
