RonJonSurfer Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Thanks all. I have never been a very good birthday celebrant. I always downplayed it and really didn't care if anybody acknowledged it. As a matter of fact, this is the first year that it became public info at SF. (Curse you Facebook). I always thought my anti-birthday sentiments were rooted in my youth. Today is my sisters birthday, one day apart, but she is 6 years older than me. When we were kids, my parents would always throw a combo party which meant that Sis could invite as many people as she wanted to a party that was 100% focused on her. My Mom would always say to me, "You can invite Joey Vitale (the kid from the other block). So, every year a blow out for Sis and I invited Joey Vitale. You can see why birthday parties never had a lot of appeal to me. I suppose I could start having major blasts to celebrate my birth...I can't invite Joey, he died last year. I think I'll be more than content with the recognition from my Sf friends.
Lucky Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Then accept the wishes of your SF friends in the manner they were given .... with love. And use the day for memories of those people & birthdays that have gone by the wayside .... again, with love. Happy Birthday again!
