Thanks for the cheery greeting Phil. Great to see you too. :)

Thanks for voting, Elena and John.

It looks like we might have a lot of 5 pointers in the "ones I'd like/should be in the Top 40". I sort of thought people might support some previous nominations, rather than put 5 new songs each time. We'll have to devise a tiebreaker for all those 5s, so we'll give priority to "first in" - not because I went first. I'll vote later next time.

Also, while I know many 50s and 60s songs, some I don't, so I would appreciate it if you can put the date and some chart details besides (perhaps) "lesser known" new songs. And the points beside each helps a lot. Thanks !

No, I was 3, but thanks for losing a year! Couldn't you have lost a couple more? :D It was the same year I got my pony (I was an only child then, and oh so spoiled), and there are tons of pictures. She was just the first of many many Barbies though.

Great American Bandstand clip Laurie. Thank you. :coolio:

I had no idea it went for 37 years !

Thanks Lars, Bazooka, Ian and Lea for voting.

It's going to be a much changed Top 40 this week. Poor old Pat Boom looks like being the main casualty. Funny, except for his insipid covers of Little Richard songs, I liked his music.

Lucky, I empathise with you. I had lots of old comics that would be worth $$$ now - certainly not as much as an original Barbie though.

Ken, I don't know if Jump In The Line ever charted as a Single in the U.S. ???

I see it's on Harry Belfonte's 1961 "Jump Up Calypso" Album.

Sorry I was unaware of that rule. I'll change it to...

Add

+5 La Bamba - Richie Valens

+4 Stand By Me - Ben E. King

+2 Can't Help Falling in Love - Elvis Presley

I wanted to add "Up on the Roof" by the Drifters, but that one doesn't appear to have charted either.

Thanks Ken. :) It certainly wasn't my intention to cause you any embarrassment. We've had a couple of other 'hiccups' - which is only to be expected at our first try.

Up On The Roof charted as bazooka said. Save it till next week and I'll support it ! Cheers.
