karma
Allentown is a blue collar steeltown in Pennsyvania that is dying because of the decline of the USA steel industry. Kind of a microcosm of American manufacturing problems and this is an anthem to the folks who are affected. I know that, I was just yanking Seekers chain is all. miamisammy29
1. Where Have All The Good Times Gone - Kinks (A very underrated Kinks tune.) 2. I Saw The Light - Todd Rundgren (One of Toad's best.) 3. Listen To Her Heart - Tom Petty/Heartbreakers (Classic Petty.) 4. There's Only One Way To Rock - Sammy Hagar (Before he threw his career into the trash with that other band) 5. I Like To Rock - April Wine (Hoser rock at its best!) 6. Ooh Child - The Five Stairsteps (I first heard this one (and instantly loved it) in that classic teen angst film, "Over The Edge", wherein Matt Dillon's character dies...of course. It may have been a cover version in the movie, though...I can't remember.) 7. Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry (Another blatant ripping off of that fabulous talent that is Vanilla Ice). 8. Down The Road Apiece - The Stones (I like this one, but it only gets a Number 8 because, as you all know, cover tunes just ain't Sammy's thang.) 9. 20th Century Boy - T-Rex (Not quite "20th Century MAN", but a damn fine tune!) 10. You Were On My Mind - We Five (One-hit wonder alert! Call me Forrest Gump, but that's all I have to say about that.)

CanAm
I'm back from the hospital today after two nightmarish nights in hospital. I'm sure the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay get more sleep than I got while in hospital. Why in God's name do they have to do labwork at three fricking A.M. And can they draw blood from all four of us in the room at the same damn time? Noooooo!!! They come in 4 different times between 3 and 5 A.M. Anyway, apart from feeling tired and like someone has been mucking around in my neck with a rusty spoon, I'm o.k. I'll know more when my doctor gets back the pathology results on all the crap they removed from my neck. To add insult to injury, I actually gained weight while in hospital despite the fact that I haven't eaten anything non pureed in 3 days. Ain't that a kicker. I just want to thank all of you for your kind words and thoughts. They meant more to me than you know. As I said to Helena, we really do have a wonderfully kind and supportive group of people at Songfacts. And Sammy, one of my nurses was really hot, so eat your heart out!
