MindCrime Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 That would be cool, but I wouldn't want to deal with it all the time. I see you have 666 posts.
pinkstones Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 The Dark Side of the Moon is #137 on the Billboard 200 this week, up three spots from last week. For some perspective, that album came out 37 years ago next month, and this is now week 748 that it has spent on said chart. How embarrassing for artists who've released albums recently that are charting LOWER than that.
MindCrime Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 How embarrassing for artists who've released albums recently that are charting LOWER than that. They shouldn't expect to live up to Floyd's standard in the first place. They just can't win
pinkstones Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 They shouldn't expect to live up to Floyd's standard in the first place. They just can't win It's not that so much as the album was released 37 years ago and is STILL charting. It consistently sells about 10,000 copies a week, according the WSJ article I was reading about it. Roughly 10,000 a week equals over half a million a year. There are artists that would kill for those kinds of sales and we're talking about albums that have just come out! This one has had damn near 40 years out there. It's fantastic....I'd love to see it crack the Top 100. Now that would be a lark.
MuzikTyme Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 They shouldn't expect to live up to Floyd's standard in the first place. They just can't win Is there a band that honestly thinks they're as good as Pink Floyd? Yep, actually they're better than Pink Floyd! Australian Pink Floyd ~ Shine on You Crazy Diamond Imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery and the above phenomenon proves it.
pinkstones Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I refuse to believe that a cover band is better than the actual group, with or without Roger. Seriously. I've heard some of these other groups and while most of them are good.....they aren't better.
MuzikTyme Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 The designer of the Titanic thought it was better than a canoe. Maybe it was but I still paddle around in my canoe when weather and currents permit. The Titanic? (the first unsinkable buoyant vessel...lol) Titanic is synonymous with doom. Like a cow. My thought is a cow should be depicted in the "D" section of the dictionary titled, "doomed." Sometimes, a student will exceed and surpass the professor. If that wasn't true, then we'd still be living in caves or worse, outside amongst the elements. Did I mention that I worship Pink Floyd?
TheLizard Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I don't think Pink Floyd is analogous to the Titanic...
MuzikTyme Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Maybe not. But Pink Anderson and Floyd Council loved to fish in a boat that wouldn't sink!
MuzikTyme Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 You're a weird dude, dude. Thanks, I try my best.

How embarrassing for artists who've released albums recently that are charting LOWER than that. I just bought it last week. So, I contributed to that rank.
miamisammy29 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 You're a weird dude, dude. Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes it's almost like....humor for the dyslexic.
JackieBlue Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 Is anybody out there just as excited as I am for the return of Sade Adu?? Been 10 looooong years geeze I hope she goes on tour and will come to the Philadelphia or Atlantic City area soon!!!
Tenacious_Peaches Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Girl, I live and breathe for Sade.
MindCrime Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Good Mourning/Black Friday by Megadeth is in the daily top 10 !? I may be the only person here that knows that song, but that kicksazz. Underground metal has come a long way.
Levis Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I did not know Flea was born in Melbs. He's 'Australian-American'
Viaene Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) the little man is full of surprises, he claims to be 1/4 Irish too. Edited February 11, 2010 by Guest

JackieBlue Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I hate that I'll never get to see Marvin Gaye, Minnie Riperton or the Bee Gees Live in concert
MindCrime Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I've never heard #1 or #2 for today's Daily Top 10. That must be the first time ever.
TheLizard Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 I was perusing old Top Ten threads when a post of mine gave me the shocking reminder that I used to like Toby Keith. Enough to see him live. Bad younger Tim, bad.
