Lucky Posted September 6, 2009 Author Report Posted September 6, 2009 Another idea for the future (not now, this will take some discussion) .... In the spirit of the PTT's, how about compiling The Songfactor's Personal Choice Albums? For example: We each nominate 2 (maybe 3, for more voting variety), then vote on the Top Ten Songfactors' favorite albums? Or something like that??
Viaene Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 you mean SF never released a top ten greatest albums? We're running behind man, every music site has this!
Farin Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 that's basically how the original MoCs worked...
Lucky Posted September 6, 2009 Author Report Posted September 6, 2009 But this one would be published.
bluesboy Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Sounds good to me. I can give you a couple of favorite albums.
MindCrime Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 ...with Greatest Hits excluded, to be fair, right?
bluesboy Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 If one of my favorite albums is a greatest hits, it's still one of my favorites.
Dappled Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 It wouldn't be easy to vote, though. I haven't heard all songs from most albums from the 90s and 00s, maybe one or two here and there.
Lucky Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 It'd be just like the regular tens. You vote what you know & like. I think things would equal out, as the youngers probably haven't heard all our favorites either.
_Laurie_ Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Have we done title tracks yet?...I'm too lazy to go back and look...
Farin Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 how about the Best Backing bands? ie (Tom Petty's) The Heartbreakers, The Bad Seeds, The Mothers of Invention, Crazy Horse etc would we even get enough together for a list though?
MindCrime Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 I'm sure 30-40 could be came up with, but this list might lack a bit.
edna Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 What about best non-English speaking songs? Or maybe instrumentals?
Lea Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) What about best non-English speaking songs? Or maybe instrumentals? I like those ideas Edited October 13, 2009 by Guest
Lucky Posted October 14, 2009 Author Report Posted October 14, 2009 The only non English songs I know are La Bamba, Dominique, and Sukiyaki. I'll sit that one out.
Dappled Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I'd go for best instrumental! other suggestions: Most poetic song Best duo of all time Greatest guitar solo in a song Best lefthanded guitarist (just joking, of course) Best one hit wonder (have we done this one?) Best modern interpretation of a classic song (pre WWII)
edna Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 We've already done best album covers, right? Worst albums?
MindCrime Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 The only non English songs I know are La Bamba, Dominique, and Sukiyaki. I'll sit that one out. That's what I was thinking...
