Steel2Velvet
Perfect Day - Lou Reed 1972 If I Were A Carpenter - Small Faces 1967 It is said that Steve Marriott was who Robert Plant patterned his singing style after. One can hear the similarities here, on the Small Faces version of Tim Hardin's classic song.

Steel2Velvet
I like the rawness. This was probably a low budget studio production with just a few microphones and fewer takes allowed. Marriott mangles the words in the second verse, transposing the lines, but keeps on going and that became the final version.
The Seeker
It was a live recording for the BBC, that's all I know about it. I know you can find it on the BBC Sessions album, but I don't have that one... I like the rawness of it too. So much better than any studio version of that song could have been.
