c_s_1987
[bigger]THE THIRD SONGFACTORS' CHOICE ULTIMATE TOP TEN - ROUND 5[/bigger] - No nominations are required, as the songs have been selected from our 25 top tens. - Voting rules will be exactly the same as the normal top tens - rank your favourite songs in the list from 1-10, and 10 points will be given to your number 1 song, 9 for number 2 etc. - We have decided to restrict eligibility to vote to only those people who have nominated or voted in at least one of Top Tens 51-75. We think that's fair! - We realised it would be ridiculous to expect people to come up with a top ten from all 250 songs, so I have seeded the songs and split them into fair groups. - The results will be announced in about five days from the start date of this thread. - This is Group 5 of 5, and this group contains 50 songs. I will then combine the five top tens together to form a group, and then we will vote on these songs to form the Ultimate Top Ten. Uncle Joe
1-Since I Fell For You - Lenny Welch (1963) Is there a greater torch song? Nope. 2-Werewolves Of London - Warren Zevon (1978) Who doesn't sing and howl along to this one? 3-Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads (1985) Been there...they nailed it. 4-Catch The Wind - Donovan (1965) Donovan at his most poetic. 5-Games People Play - Joe South (1969) I just love this guys' songs. 6-Bus Stop - The Hollies (1966) Early Hollies...first song I heard after Stop Stop Stop on pirate radio off the coast of the UK. 7-Couldn't Get It Right - Climax Blues Band (1976) Looking for frustration? Yo, right heah! 8-Sweet Baby James - James Taylor (1972) It's on my "Sleep" CD...soothing. 9-Right Place, Wrong Time - Dr. John (1973) See #7. 10-Hush - Kula Shaker (1997) Great cover of a Rock Classic. Lots of energy though little originality. Oh well, hard to improve on one of rock's perfect songs. Well done. Good video, too. I know there's someone on SF who just loves this group. Hmmm, now who could that be?
