Farin
it's certainly the best of the trilogy, and I doubt part IV comes close either
bluesboy
Forgetting Sarah Marshall can be easily forgotten. Lot's of hype by the critics and it's not worth the ticket. 5/
TheLizard
it's certainly the best of the trilogy, and I doubt part IV comes close either It won't, but I still plan on seeing it on the 22nd, because I'm a ridiculously huge Indy fanboy. Farin
yes, I didn't mean that the others (or this one) are bad movies, far from it - just that Raiders is the best of the lot btw, I read today that Marion, Karen Allen's character, will be returning in the new movie
TheLizard
Yes! She's aged quite well, too.
The Seeker
I watched American Gangster earlier... 9/10. Apparently some people on imdb complained that the movie was too drawn out, but I didn't mind... though I agree that I would've expected a bit more action, especially with a title like that. Ombre Vivante
"Vertigo" is definitely one of the best but I think my favourite Hitchcock film is "North by Northwest"! I recently watched a special showing of "the lady vanishes" and it was very interesting as it is very different to all the later HItchcock I've seen. I haven't seen The Lady Vanishes, but I'm rarin' to get the Criterion dvd release of it One thing I found surprising is how good the original version of The Man Who Knew Too Much is. I like it much better than the latter version everyone is familiar with. I watched parts of Il Gattopardo. It is good, but it is EPIC at about 3.5 hours. I'll watch it in parts over three or four days.
CanAm
I watched Cloverfield on the flight back from SFO. Big mistake. Rather than heighten suspense, the director's choice to show the action through the lense of a handheld camcorder was just annoying. The acting was dreadful and the story reminded me of the film Godzilla with Matthew Broderick. 3/
Kevin
" The Score " - Robert DeNiro, Brando , Ed Norton : Entertaining and clever heist movie . Three generations of crooks ( and actors ) after a priceless scepter . Interesting contrasts in characters and acting styles that blend together nicely . Satisfying conclusion . 8/

However, I did not like the fact that you got to see the monster....
katie_sane
Saw '21' tonight. Thought it was really good (big fan of Jim Sturgess) even though I understood none of the mathematics and black jack talk. Kevin Spacey was his usual fantastic self. Inspired by a true story and definitely worth seeing.
Ombre Vivante
Just finished Tetsuo. One thought came to mind after watching this movie: it is unlike anything you have seen and heard before
Jenny
Bee Movie 7/10 Cute kids movie....there was one part that really made me laugh. Otherwise, it was your average cutesy kids movie. Jerry Seinfeld is the voice of Benjamin, a bee who wants to do more than toil away at the honey factory for the rest of his life. Through some adventures, he comes to find out that even the smallest jobs can be very important.

Shawna
All hail Blues Brothers! I watched P.S. I Love You. What a waste. It was a tearjerker, and it was a bad one at that. blecchh.
miamisammy29
Over the weekend, I watched "There Will Be Blood". Funny thing....there was none....very little, anyway. Pretty cool movie, nonetheless. 8 out of 10.

miamisammy29
I think TWBB should have won best picture... It was 100 times better than "Old Country Buffet Is For Old Men", or whatever it was called. I'm sorry, but that did NOT deserve the Oscar for best picture. I would have definitely given it to "There Will Be Blood", or maybe even "American Gangsta" - that one ruled, too.
TheLizard
"Old Country Buffet Is For Old Men" I would love to watch a movie where Tommy Lee Jones cuts in front of some geezer so he can grab some fried chicken, causing a violent chain of events. miamisammy29
I'm glad you laughed at that one; it just kinda came out as I was typing that. But that WOULD be cool....Tommy Lee Jones and Sean Connery fighting over the last slab of strawberry cheesecake, with assistant manager David Caruso tying to break it up. Now, that's a f***in' movie! Ken
I was overjoyed to find this available on DVD. I *totally forgot about the 1977 scary movie flick, The Car . 10/
Shawna
OMG Ken, I'm creeped out all over again! I couldn't watch a full 2 minutes of that because it's so creepy! :beady:
