Levis Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 The cricket part is the only one I understand
PSYCHOcatholic Posted November 25, 2006 Author Report Posted November 25, 2006 Weird bats and funny names... How is the game played?
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I'm quite interested in sports, but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who understands next to nothing in this thread.
Farin Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 we should start talking about normal sports, like football (and I don't mean the american kind )
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Now that would be truly interesting.
Farin Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 do did you see the Champions League match Chelsea vs. Bremen last week?
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 No, I caught only part of it, from what I saw Bremen played quite well but Chelsea was better. Did you watch it?
Levis Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Yes, so the reason this thread has no 'your' football conversations is because 'you' didn't start any.
Farin Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 no, I didn't watch it, I just wanted to rub it in, in case your a Chelsea fan... and Ms. Radhika-ji, I would have started a conversation, but the number of people interested in the Bundesliga is kinda limited here, don't you think?
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I can't speak for Farin, but I was too much in awe to interrupt.
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I'm no Chelsea fan, don't worry. If I root for an English team at all, then it has to be Arsenal.
Levis Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I would have started a conversation, but the number of people interested in the Bundesliga is kinda limited here, don't you think? 2 is a start.
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 The do. (even though he's German )
Farin Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I'll have you know, that unlike other nations that I don't want to mention here, one of Germanys best positions is the goalkeeper... we have at least 3 or 4 world-class players on that position
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Too bad that world-class players like Lehmann and Ballack prefer to play for England instead, then... And we have the worst hooligans. Top that.
TheTallOne Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Notre Dame and USC play today in American college football in which I think is the game of the year. A rematch of last year's classic, I'm praying Notre Dame pulls through.
Farin Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I don't think they play for England, but more for their clubs who pay them better and even without them there are still quite a few very good players left... and I wish I couldn't top the hooligan thing, but in the last few weeks / months we had some scandals with hooligans mostly in the lowest leagues, where matches had to be cancelled because of the fear that the players and referees might get injured...
The Seeker Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 It's so stupid....people beating each other up about a football match. I understand that they get aggressive, if the club I root for loses and fans of the other club start to get all arrogant that happens to me too, but I don't go around throwing bottles at them either. Not even when I'm drunk and with a group of twenty other upset football fans.

Crazy Don Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 South Florida kicked WVU out of the BCS today, 24-19. Maybe the Mountaineers were looking forward to Rutgers next week…

TheLizard Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Looks like I have to remain disgusted for another year. They didn't even bother to show up. There's no excuse for a team in the top 10 to lose by 20 points to anybody.
