The Seeker Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 What do you mean by old style music then? I think Farin meant classical music as in Bach.

Red Fish Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 For Pete's sake, shut up with your Words, Almonds!
Blue Fish Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Oh dear, i've never heard of words before now...
Blue Fish Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 humm i have been thinking it's too hard to ask for just one song or band, so your allowed up to five. Please keep the explainations (if you want to explain) short if your choosing five...i have trouble reading mass text...
TheTallOne Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 (edited) Favorite Band: - O.A.R. (Modern day) - Pink Floyd (Classic) Favorite Song: Changes every minute Edited November 5, 2006 by Guest
The Seeker Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Ok, five favourites...I'm not sure if this is making things harder or easier. Bands 1. The Who 2. The Small Faces 3. The Beatles 4. Oasis 5. The Rolling Stones (in the 60s) or Humble Pie (I really, really can't decide) I had a tough time with the songs, so I chose (or at least tried to, it was particularly hard with the Small Faces) my favourite songs for my favourite artists: 1. How Many Friends 2. The Hungry Intruder 3. I’m Only Sleeping 4. Slide Away 5. Stray Cat Blues or Teenage Anxiety
Blue Fish Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 (edited) meh, i try to make things easier and some one comes along all ungrateful and jumps on it..what to do, what to do... (said in a jokey tone. just to adviod the ol' "your so insulting, play nice" thing...) Edited November 5, 2006 by Guest
Blue Fish Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 well, you never know with this place...
Blue Fish Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 i think "let down your hair let in the sun" is up there with my favorites, as well as " for all the saints, who from their labours rest"

Levis Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Very hard to pick 5 top bands, but in random order: 1. Chili Peppers 2. Blind Melon 3. Kula Shaker 4. Soul Asylum 5. R.E.M/Nirvana Songs are much too hard... this'll have to do.
blind-fitter Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Favourite band (this year): Dresden Dolls Favourite song (of all-time): "Song To The Siren" by This Mortal Coil

daslied Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Here's Tim doing it on the Monkees show. It's in a much lower key than his studio original, and it's very restrained. A bit of the "I gave my love a chicken..." vibe to it, unfortunately... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JAT859NotE
blind-fitter Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Try this then..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBX3mKduZp8 Jeez, isn't that just the most beautiful thing you ever heard?
blind-fitter Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTDioRxmSfA Wow! Wild! Thanks johnny. Sincerely. That was brilliant.
honeybrown1976 Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Very hard....it depends on my mood at the time. The Beatles and the Stones have been mainstays so I'll just pick them for now. The Beatles - Michelle, Across the Universe, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, and Penny Lane The Stones - Brown Sugar, Gimme Shelter, and As Tears Go By (I love Ms. Faithfull's version as well)
edna Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Fave band and song of the weekend: Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel: "Come up and see me (make me smile)".
