OLD 55
I'm awake and breakfasted. Shawna got #10, Walk A Mile In My Shoes / Joe South and Jenny got #6, Maybellene / Chuck Berry. Well done Ladies. I figured walking in someone else's shoes would hurt (unless you had the same size foot). When Chuck Berry wrote Maybellene he called it Ida Red. The record company liked the song but not the name. He spotted a discarded Maybelline brand mascara box in the waste paper bin... ................................................. I try out some of these questions on my Wife, and she got #7 straight away. It must have been the inflection in my voice. "But you said I could keep it !" indignantly. It's a novelty song from the 60s and it's an American expression.

OLD 55
Well done bazooka. Politically incorrect or not, it was a big "bubblegum" hit in 1969. phil
The term Indian Giver. I found this Darryl. Origin Derives from the alleged practise of American Indians of taking back gifts from white settlers. This term, which is certainly American, may have been coined to denegrate of the native race. Historians would now agree that, where deceit was concerned, it was the settlers who were the front runners.
OLD 55
Thanks Phil ! Yes, they didn't get a good deal for Manhattan did they ? I like your avatar. I'm a big Three Stooges fan too, also the Marx Brothers. I don't like my humor too subtle ( although some of Groucho's oneliners are classics).
