RyanTurtle
I'm in the process of writing a book. It's kind of an off the wall story. It's about Cupid getting mixed up with the mafia in 1940s New York City. My working title is I'm With Cupid, but I don't think I'm going to keep that title. Anyone have any ideas on what to call it? RyanTurtle
Well...yeah...kind of. He's more of a modernized, kick ass, grown up version of that dude.
Earth-Angel
Aaah more like this dude? I liked that show, but always thought Jeremy Piven looked like Dave Matthews.
RyanTurtle
Yeah. Now, picture a guy kinda like that....in the 40s...with a crossbow...
Earth-Angel
I think the "I'm with Cupid" title is pretty cute. I think a lot of people wil get the joke.

RyanTurtle
Okay...It might work. I thought that it was a bit too comical of a title...but the story is kinda starting to turn into a dark comedy.

Batman
If it's a dark comedy, "I'm With Cupid" is too cutesy and generic. I'd do something a little darker, or offbeat (as the storyline sounds offbeat).
Earth-Angel
But then it could also be a stark contrast to the content. It's a dark comedy, it'd work
DiggsUK
What about 'The Second St.Valentines Day Massacre'? Regards
RyanTurtle
Okay then....any suggestions on something offbeat? I get what you're saying about the too generic thing,it was just a quick title. I hate working on stuff without a title.

Uncle Joe
Connie Frances just phoned to recommend "Stupid Cupid". How about "Love Hurts...or "Love Hoits" if it's set in Brooklyn?
_Laurie_
cupid...in latin the word is EROS which is a roman god of love...so maybe using the word EROS would be interesting..you would need something with it to connect it to the mob though..to make it darker
Kevin
That's a good thought , Laurie . How about ripping off Shakespeare with " A Comedy of Eros" ?

Lucky
That's a good thought , Laurie . How about ripping off Shakespeare with " A Comedy of Eros" ? Italian is a latin based language. I actually kind of like this, Kevin.
PSYCHOcatholic
hmm...Cupid in the Mob. Well, knowing Cupid, he would HAVE to shoot his love arrow here and there. Like if it was The Godfather... "I Shot the Don" i dont know...like, how are you telling the story. From your perspective or from Cupids?
Carl
Not only should you name your book "I'm With Cupid," but you should trademark the phrase and sell T-shirts. I know a hook when I see one, and that's a great title.
Tenacious_Peaches
I'm With Cupid is da bomb, yo. I just really wanted to respond because I love Jeremy Piven...he is screamingly funny.
RyanTurtle
Wow...I really didn't expect to get so many good ideas. Sorry to all songfactors for ever doubting you. Oh, and the Point of view is gonna be Cupid's, like he's telling the story.
