TenYearsGone Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 I'll throw another wild guess out there.........Foo Fighters?
WaitingForMyRocketToCome Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Dad, you've gotta be right...where's Daniel to tell us the answer?
rico Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 I'll throw another wild guess out there.........Foo Fighters? Yeah, gotta be Foo Fighters-Everlong was supposedly about Cobain and Dave Grohl is certainly multi-instrumental and he fronted the new band Probot. So, in lieu of Daniel, I'm gonna take it upon myself to say tenyearsgone is up.
Danielj Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Foo Fighters is Correct, sorry to leave you guys out there hanging............................ And its not Everlong thats about Kurt Cobain, its My Hero (which is my favorite Foo's Song) TenYearsGone is up
edna Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 TenYears... are you gone? why don´t you post yours?
TenYearsGone Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 sorry for the delay...actually had to work#%$*& 1. band named for a 17th century murderess. 2. formed in Florida. 3. covered Allman Bros. and Stones songs early on.
TenYearsGone Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 no, sorry WFMRTC. That band was formed in Ireland.
rico Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 And its not Everlong thats about Kurt Cobain, its My Hero (which is my favorite Foo's Song) Well, Dan, I don't know, there are people who think Everlong is about Cobain and My Hero certainly could be, but I thought that Grohl has always denied it. Whatever.
rico Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 1. band named for a 17th century murderess. 2. formed in Florida. 3. covered Allman Bros. and Stones songs early on. Is it Molly Hatchet?
TenYearsGone Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Correct-o-mundo rico.....carry on.
rico Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 1. 70's Irish rock band 2. Serious one-hit wonder (but the hit was seriously huge) 3. Lead singer/songwriter was black
miamisammy29 Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 1. 70's Irish rock band 2. Serious one-hit wonder (but the hit was seriously huge) 3. Lead singer/songwriter was black Ooh, I hope you're not talking about Thin Lizzy! :beady:
rico Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Ooh, I hope you're not talking about Thin Lizzy! :beady: Well, I don't know, Sammy, what if I was? ::
Earth-Angel Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 I didn't realise Thin Lizzy were a one hit wonder... Here I was thinking they were this awesome band that I should make an effort to listen to! ::
rico Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 One-hit wonder signifies to me having one big top 40 hit in the US--that's it. The term doesn't reflect the worthiness of an artist--in fact I think Thin Lizzy is one of the great underrated bands of the 70's--nor is it meant as a comment on the international appeal of a performer, which, being a parochial American, I am usually unaware of. Sorry for the "dull cliche."
Danielj Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Uh, yeah is the answer Thin Lizzy or not?
miamisammy29 Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 I would also call "Jailbreak", "Bad Reputation", "Cowboy Song", and "Whiskey In The Jar" hits...maybe not quite top 40, but pretty close. They do rock. Good question, Rico. Okay, here's a new one: 1. Band included a pair of brothers 2. Band formed in Georgia 3. Released debut album in 1990
chimpevil Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Okay, here's a new one: 1. Band included a pair of brothers 2. Band formed in Georgia 3. Released debut album in 1990 Band's called Georgia, right?
