Nah, not at all Lucky...I feel the same way about the TT's....I think this TT was a nice mix....I love this game!....I guess I think of the word competition, in this kind of game, as seeing how well the songs I like do in the TT....and getting to listen to music that's new to me....

You people talk too much, how many times have we had this discussion already? Who's even reading?

(oh you are?)

I just flipped through to get here and say that this is further proof that I am a jinx and my noms only make it when someone else nominates them, so Swervedriver is up for the taking if you liked Duel.

I'm not a player, I don' t like competitions, I don' t buy lottery or go to Casino or such... I don't do sports and the only game I like is The Top Ten.

Now, if I was to play poker, then I wouldn´t like to lose, not at all... but as Lucky said, this is a competition among songs, not songfactors...

I don't advocate nominating a song just to get into the Top Ten, but I certainly try to make mine competitive enough to have some sort of chance of making it.

Why do people use the 'Songs For Prospective Nominations' Thread if not to gauge whether someone likes their songs enough to vote for them ?

I seriously doubt that anyone here doesn't get a little 'kick' if they see their nomination/s make the Top ten. Live and let live.

In my case, Darryl, yes, a little "kick"... but a very little one. And it's a 75% of surprise as you know I like to nominate strange songs that never make it... over and over...

I like to occasionally nominate songs I don't particularly like - just to see if anyone else will vote for them .

I see this more as a roundtable of friends who are trying to mention a movie or song ,TV show , etc. that most may agree upon as good . Many suggestions will get some criticism from some , but occasionally one idea is offered that most will agree is pretty good . One isn't considered an 'expert' or a 'winner' in that topic at all by any means , but can simply enjoy mentioning something that brought some agreement/nostalgia / etc. to the table . This game is very similar- and the main point , in my mind .
