I was just reading how The Stones and Elton John recent fired off severe objections to using their songs in a campaign.
 
So in researching the subject, I ran across this ...
Technically speaking, copyright laws allow political candidates to use just about any song they want, as long as they're played at a stadium, arena or other venue that already has a public-performance license through a songwriters' association such as ASCAP or BMI. However, the law contains plenty of gray area. If a candidate refuses to stop using a song in this scenario, an artist may be able to protect his "right of publicity" – Springsteen's voice blaring over a loudspeaker is part of his image, and he has a right to protect his own image. "It's untested in the political realm," says Lawrence Iser, an intellectual-property lawyer who has represented the Beatles, Michael Jackson and many others. "Even if Donald Trump has the ASCAP right to use a Neil Young song, does Neil have the right to nevertheless go after him on right of publicity? I say he does."

I agree. Because if it was my song, I would want to protect what it it used to "represent" or "promote".
E.G. If I was opposed to alcohol consumption, say on a deep and personal level, not just a simply objection, an all out loathe the practice, say, than I wouldn't want my song used in a Beer commercial or a Scotch ad. I say that's a justifiable objection.  Well a political candidate can certainly strike a similar chord with an artist.

OK, it's a blizzard. They've changed projections around here to 24-30 inches of snow. I'm just outside of New York City, so expect to hear about major problems in the Big Apple.
Right now I've got power, food and booze...I'm good.

I try, but I live with someone who is a serial complainer and very negative.  Almost everyday, I lose patience early in the morning and then feel like a loser the rest of the day.  So staying positive is actually a struggle, but yes, I try very hard.

Today starts our  Anniversary Celebration Week !!  for Lucky and I.              
Culminating into the Zenith Wednesday January 27th and subsiding into saturday...
9  Glorious years together.

I got my JV team in this week, and they performed accordingly.

Definitely a classic that I also look forward to seeing to this day. I also introduced my girls to these holiday classics. I'm so glad they continue to air these shows so kids today can enjoy them also. Charlie Brown Christmas is one of my favorites, and of course The Great Pumpkin was cute too.

It was December 9, 1965 when the world was first given the gift called "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Fifty years??? What??? I was a mere 7 years old then and I recall sitting in my parents living room watching this special year in and year out. No VHS then, no DVD's, no downloads...no nuthin'!!! If you missed that one showing on WCBS-TV, you missed it until next year. 
I couldn't wait to introduce my kids to The Peanuts Gang doing their thing and I'm sure grandkids will enjoy it someday too.

Sorry Kevin. Blue has been doing that to me all year. I was always 1 minute late. I like the playoff format. BTW; It seems like an awful amount of injuries this year. My team is different every week.

At work, I walk right by a rack with these great looking baked goods that are 50% off.  Well, temptation won out last night and I bought some muffins.  Now I know why they are half price...stale as anything.  It's just as well, now I won't be tempted by the donuts and brownies.

Vick is fun to watch, but the numbers show he was never as good as we thought he was.

Managed to squeeze a third place finish in baseball. Setting the teams weekly ended up good for my personal schedule. It's tough to stay on top of line-ups daily. congrats to all.

At least baseball is going well!  I'm hoping to make a charge in the second half of the season.   Good luck this week, Kevin.  I'll need some unexpected points to beat you this week.

I like having defensive players in Kevin, for exactly the reason you mentioned, it's just kind of fun to move them around and see how many extra points you can garnish..  I'd missed that. I'm ready to go, hopefully my football team is slightly better than my baseball team this year. Good luck everybody!!
