MarcM Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Falling is not the hard part, its the sudden stopping and banging into things that will get you!
MuzikTyme Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Kinda like what the pessimist said to the optimist while both were watching someone fall from the Empire State building . . . Pessimist; "Hey, look! That person's dead!" Optimist; "Not Yet!"
_Laurie_ Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) I took the residents to The County Fair, they wanted to see the Demolition Derby....I've never been to one of these things and now I know why...it's very loud, and dirt was flying up everywhere, and I had to move way up to the top of the bleachers coz I got tired of having mud flying at me!...but the guys loved it...LOL... Tonight is the tractor pull and rooster crowing contest....YeeeHaww! Edited July 23, 2009 by Guest What the heck is a Tractor Pull Contest?
Lea Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 What the heck is a Tractor Pull Contest? It's kinda like a tug of war contest but it's between two tractors I've never been to one but there quite common here from what I understand. It will be another loud and dirty event to be sure Laurie. If you didn't like the Demolition Derby, it's a good safe bet you won't like the Tractor Pull much better The rooster crowing contest could prove amusing but pig calling contests are more so
Lucky Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Country girl that I am, I love the Demolition Derby & the tractor pull & all that stuff. Sounds like a blast to me.
The Seeker Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I thought a Tractor Pull was people trying to pull a tractor
_Laurie_ Posted July 24, 2009 Author Report Posted July 24, 2009 OMG....it was even louder than the Demo Derby!...but the guys did have a good time...
pinkstones Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I live in the South and I avoid all that stuff. I'm from Chicago, we're Yankees. We don't do that. I love getting curious looks from people when I open my mouth and they act like they've never heard anyone from north of Virginia speak before. It's great.
Shawna Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 anybody else heard the news yet that MJ's nose was missing?
_Laurie_ Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 Yes, Shawna I heard something about that it was caved in or something like that....That's what a friend told me anyways...
MarcM Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 tHE sPECIALS REALLY BRIGHTEN UP AN EARLY MORNING WHEN PLAYED A FULL VOLUME. MY CO WORKERS ENJOYED THEM TOO.
pinkstones Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 anybody else heard the news yet that MJ's nose was missing? Yes. Now ask me if I'm in any way surprised.
MarcM Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 SOMEONE PROBABLY PUT IT BACK INTO THE SILLY PUTTY EGG THAT IT CAME IN.
Farin Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 ^ Marc has to write in all caps at his work. and rather than switching back and forth and risking accidentally having to do a form again because he started with lower caps (I think this happened already in the past), he just writes in caps here too you get used to it - especially if you know why he's doing it
Shawna Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I like it when Marc types in all caps. It means that the streets of the city are safe.
Steel2Velvet Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Yeah, 'cause he's screaming at everybody ...
Lea Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Mac, seriously, that avatar Who the h*** is that. I'm havin' nightmares here
edna Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 and you get used to it - especially if you know why he's doing it ...and also when you get to know him a bit and find out what an amazing guy he is...
