Shawna
1. Highwire ~ Rolling Stones (I remember the very first time I heard this song, the only words I could understand were the chorus, and I actually cried. What a dork. ) - and no, I'm not nominating it because it's the Stones. I'm nominating it in spite of that fact. "We walk the highwire sending men to the front lines hoping they don't catch the hellfire with hot guns and cold, cold nights" 2. Civil War ~ Guns & Roses (warning: viewing video may be harmful on the eyes. Especially with Axl in those short shorts.) There are only two Guns & Roses songs I like, and this is one of them. edna
It still doesn't like me, so if anyone wants to post a video, be my guest. I'm glad I have your vote, Fearless is my 2nd favorite Floyd song (after Echoes). I found this video for "Swagger" - Flogging Molly
Foolonthehill
I'll be very surprised if either of these make it, but I'll nominate them anyways. YYZ- Rush This is the live version with the amazing drum solo- wasn't really sure how to make this into a link or if this already is...I'm terrible with computers. Sorry for the inconvenience. If someone tells me how to make this a link, I will do so. National Anthem- Radiohead http://youtube.com/watch?v=n7it1uF4dDk

bazooka
Tobacco Road -- The Nashville Teens .. the video includes much screaming and clapping. And now for something completely different:Compared To What -- Les McCann & Eddie Harris .. I heard this for the first time in years, yesterday. Sorry OLD 55, I'm sure this number got no AM airplay, but it was a great hit among my friends and acquaintances back when. I wonder if other folks are familiar with it ? The video is in two parts:Part 1 Part 2 The video must be contemporaneous with this album recorded live at the Montreux (Switzerland) Jazz Festival in 1969. OLD 55
Well baz, you have my vote on Tobacco Road, but, no, I haven't heard the other song before. I'll give it a few listens tomorrow. And I really like Joe's idea. As I have a 1965 nomination this time, I'll put a 1960 song for Top Ten #65. How's that for logic ? Haven't got time to change things now. Our grandchildren are with us for a couple of nights, and Alyssa (our Grandaughter) sleeps in my office. I'm getting shooed off the computer now. Goodnight All. RonJonSurfer
Windmills of Your Mind From the soundtrack to the movie The Thomas Crown Affair Words and music by Alan Bergman and Michel Jean Legrand Round, like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel. Never ending or beginning, On an ever spinning wheel Like a snowball down a mountain Or a carnaval balloon Like a carousell that's turning Running rings around the moon Like a clock whose hands are sweeping Past the minutes on it's face And the world is like an apple Whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind Like a tunnel that you follow To a tunnel of it's own Down a hollow to a cavern Where the sun has never shone Like a door that keeps revolving In a half forgotten dream Or the ripples from a pebble Someone tosses in a stream. Like a clock whose hands are sweeping Past the minutes on it's face And the world is like an apple Whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind Keys that jingle in your pocket Words that jangle your head Why did summer go so quickly Was it something that I said Lovers walking allong the shore, Leave their footprints in the sand Was the sound of distant drumming Just the fingers of your hand Pictures hanging in a hallway And a fragment of this song Half remembered names and faces But to whom do they belong When you knew that it was over Were you suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning To the color of her hair Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning, On an ever spinning wheel As the images unwind Like the circle that you find In the windmills of your mind Pictures hanging in a hallway And the fragment of this song Half remembered names and faces But to whom do they belong When you knew that it was over Were you suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning To the color of her hair Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning, On an ever spinning wheel As the images unwind Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind Stingetc.com is © 1995 - 2007 by Marisa Meisters
