Not really cool for most of you, but here are some links to articles about the thing that has been keeping me away from posting very much (at all) lately (yes, I was gone, I know you didn't notice and I couldn't care less  )

the Customer is Not Always Right

Guest: “I’d like to return this toaster.â€

Me: “Okay ma’am, do you have a receipt for the purchase dated within 90 days?â€

Guest: “No.â€

Me: “Okay, well you can’t return it then. However, if you have an ID you can exchange it for an item of equal or lesser value from the same department.â€

Guest: “But I don’t want to exchange it. I want my money.â€

Me: “Well, I’m sorry but if you don’t have a receipt, you can’t return the item.â€

Guest: “[Other store name] would take it back!â€

Another guest in line: “Excuse me, I work there and, no we wouldn’t!â€

the Customer is Not Always Right

This is my favourite so far, along with one about a 10 inch pizza:

Tech Support: “All right. Now click ‘OK’.â€

Customer: “Click ‘OK’?â€

Tech Support: “Yes, click ‘OK’.â€

Customer: “Click ‘OK’?â€

Tech Support: “That’s right. Click ‘OK’.â€

Customer: “So I click ‘OK’, right?â€

Tech Support: “Right. Click ‘OK’.â€

(Pause.)

Customer: “I clicked ‘Cancel’.â€

Tech Support: “YOU CLICKED ‘CANCEL’???â€

Customer: “That’s what I was supposed to do, right?â€

Tech Support: “No, you were supposed to click ‘OK’.â€

Customer: “I thought you said to click ‘Cancel’.â€

Tech Support: “NO. I said to click ‘OK’.â€

Customer: “Oh.â€

Tech Support: “Now we have to start over.â€

Customer: “Why?â€

Tech Support: “Because you clicked ‘Cancel’.â€

Customer: “Wasn’t I supposed to click ‘Cancel’?â€

Tech Support: “No. Forget that. Let’s start from the top.â€

Customer: “Ok.â€

(I spend the next fifteen minutes re-constructing the carefully crafted setup for this lady’s unique computer.)

Tech Support: “All right. Now, are you ready to click ‘OK’?â€

Customer: “Yes.â€

Tech Support: “Great. Now click ‘OK’.â€

(Pause.)

Customer: “I clicked ‘Cancel’.â€

(And people wonder why my mouse pad has a target on it labeled “BANG HEAD HERE.â€)

Danger!

This article covers four stories about the most treacherous roads in the world. You are likely to be incredulous. I saved the best for the last. Just when you think you have seen everything, the fourth story is certain to astonish you even more. It tells the tale of the most dangerous public hike you could ever imagine!

with many pictures!
